imma discuss why daring charming couldn't wake apple, yet darling charming could.
throughout the whole series, it's clear that daring is very self-centered. i mean, he's always staring at himself in a mirror.
when he first was released from the mirror prison by darling accidently, he looked horrible. then, when noticing apple, he didn't immediately go up to her to kiss her and wake her. instead, he fixed his own appearance. then, he wasted even more time by coming in on a horse then just simply walking up to her and kissing her.
it was all about him, and never about her. how he looked, how he entered, how he became the hero and got his happily ever after. he didn't really care about apple. that was why he couldn't wake her.
then there was darling. when apple started to be affected in a more negative way and it didn't seem as though she were breathing, darling didn't hesitate to perform cpr. she was quick to do something in that situation and was ready to save her friends life. no waiting. no making sure she looked okay. you also realize she didn't ask daring to give her cpr. she just went straight for it and that was what woke apple up. it was a daring act, one of a prince, which was what was needed to wake her.
