Wei Ying followed Xue Yang closely the next day, Lan Zhan standing just ahead of them. The other did not speak, as Xue Yang had expected, and was mostly quiet, but Xue Yang supposed that he could appreciate the company, if nothing else. It was obvious that something was bothering Wei Ying, yet he did not say what it was, he kept rather tight lipped about it. Lan Zhan seemed to have noticed that there was something which was bothering his beloved, but he was not sure how to approach Wei Ying. Wei Ying was not one to speak of his troubles, even if it was obvious to the others that there was something wrong. He hated, absolutely hated, speaking about himself, in any form. It sometimes made things just a little difficult, but there was nothing that he could do to really push Wei Ying into telling him.

Sure, he could ask the other, and Lan Zhan knew that Wei Ying would not deny him should he do so. Yet, that felt like cheating somehow. He did not want Wei Ying to tell him because he did not want to deny Lan Zhan anything, he wanted Wei Ying to tell him because Wei Ying decided to do so. He wanted the other to trust him, and to come to him with his worries. Lan Zhan knew that the other was bothered over something, and he could even guess somewhat what it was that he was worrying himself over, but he did not dare make assumptions, and he hated not being able to be with his love.

Of course, he fully understood that the other trusted and cared for him deeply, he was just worried about him. He wanted the other to be confident in speaking up. Lan Zhan did not want to have to keep pushing him to speak of the things which worried him. His trust had been immense speaking to Lan Zhan originally, over the things which had concerned him, and had worried him, and the whole situation was hard to handle, the original situation, which had led to the both of them becoming lovers. Lan Zhan knew that Wei Ying trusted him, possibly more than anyone else, yet he did not know what to say to approach him.

He wanted to be more confident at trying to talk to his love about the emotions that he felt filling him, but Lan Zhan just did not know how. He knew that it was a flaw, even if Wei Ying never once berated him for such things, at most for Wei Ying it was perfect teasing materiel, and nothing more. The other did not need someone to understand the most intricate emotions but he still wanted to be able to do that for the other, and he confound that it was something that was a try and failure so far. He wanted to allow Wei Ying to confide in him confidently, and Lan Zhan wanted to be able to talk about what Wei Ying was feeling.

It would seem, however, that it was not something that he would be capable of managing any time in the near future. The most that he could do at this moment is hope that the other was going to come to him, as he did not wish to force the other to talk about his feelings, though he would be capable of that quite easily. Hopefully he would be able to let Wei Ying feel comfortable enough in coming to him about whatever it was that was currently making him anxious and upset. Lan Zhan hated seeing Wei Ying upset, it was not a joy, and Lan Zhan only wanted the other to be joyful and happy at all point in times.

If Lan Zhan were to guess what it was that was bothering Wei Ying, he would assume that it had something to do with the previous bought that they had with those rogue cultivators, and Jiang Cheng the other day. Though he could not necessarily be certain that was the exact reason which Wei Ying began to feel upset, it was the most logical reason for the other's downtrodden attitude. Wei Ying never liked fighting, much less when it came to something that cultivators should be standing up for as a concept or principle in the first place, it always seemed to anger Wei Ying somewhat, and yet he would do so without fail each and every time, and Lan Zhan found such a quality rather wonderful. Wei Ying was so bright and stubborn it was a beautiful picture. Something that Lan Zhan found quite admirable.

Lan Zhan also knew that Wei Ying hated fighting with Jiang Cheng. Absolutely hated it. Though the other was not necessarily scared of Jiang Cheng, he did not particularly enjoy being in his presence. Lan Zhan personally did not find joy in being within the Jiang Sect Heir's vicinity. Especially after he found out what the other did with Wei Ying? Lan Zhan could barely hold himself from lashing out in anger at the man. It was only his iron clad self control curtesy of 3000 Gusu Lan Sect Rules which had been ingrained in his very being that he managed to hold himself back from doing just that. Especially the first time that he had seen the teen outside of healing and tending to Wei Ying's wounds.

Lan Zhan personally felt that he should be awarded a embossed engraving for managing such. Well, He did not, Wei Ying had, however, and spent the entire day lamenting the fact that such a thing would not be allowed within GusuLan.

Lan Zhan did find, though, for all the times that Wei Ying may laugh at certain rules which the Sect had, he did enjoy being there. For whatever it was worth, even with the amount of regulations and such that there were and that needed to be abided by, Wei Ying was far more calm in GusuLan. Lan ZHan had been frightened that the other had disliked being within the Cloud Recesses, and had even offered to switch Sects, to become a part of the Jiang Sect, but Wei Ying had denied such a thing vehemently, saying that he could not bear to think of pulling Lan Zhan away from the GusuSect, and that he quite liked the look of Lan Zhan in the mourning robes.

Lan Zhan had decided, upon the completion of his reminiscing, he would speak with Wei Ying about his troubles when they stopped for the evening.
