4. Bob's Diner

Millie's POV

I look over to the clock on my dresser to check the time, it's 5:25, I realise that I should probably start getting ready to meet up with Sadie and the boys at the diner.

Climbing out of my bed I walk over toward my closet and pull out a pair of white cut off shorts and pair them with my favorite cropped burgundy coca~cola sweatshirt.

Putting my hair up it a tight ponytail with a white scrunchie I pull on my white knee high socks with two burgundy stripes and tie up my all black hightop Van's. Walking over to my makeup vanity I decide to go with a simple look, brushing a little blush on my cheeks and applying a light pink lip gloss and a thin layer of mascara to top it off.

Feeling satisfied with my look I check the time seeing that's it's now 5:50, and I head over to my desk and grab my phone and wallet before heading downstairs. Once I've entered the kitchen I grab my keys off the counter and I yell a goodbye to my mom and sister,

"Hey mom and Ava I'm heading to the diner down the road to meet up with some friends I made, I'll be home by 11!" she responds quickly and I head out the door

"Okay Mills, have fun!"

Closing the front door I run to my car, cursing myself for deciding to wear shorts in this cold weather. Quickly climbing in my car I turn the heat on and let out a relieved breath from the warmth, before pulling out of the driveway.

Plugging in my phone, and turning on the speakers bluetooth I start playing You Should See Me In A Crown by Billie Eilish. I reach for my glovebox, and pull out my gun pack. Opening the plasticy package I pull out a stick of strawberry flavored gum.

Poping the gum in my mouth I bob my head to the music, and slowly pull into the parking lot at Bob's Diner. Pulling up to the front of the diner I put my car in park. Opening the door, I enter the dinner and see the boys and Sadie sitting in a booth.

Gaten spots me first and waves at me while smiling as he says, "Hey Millie! I'm glad you made it, now we can eat." I slide into the seat next to him as everyone bursts in to laughter and I respond while still softly laughing, "Well then let's eat"

Looking over the menue I feel eyes on me, and I look up to see Finn looking at me over his menu, before he quickly looks back down after I notice him. Smirking a little I look back down to my menu and decide on a strawberry vanilla milkshake and cheeseburger with fries

The waiter walks up to us and we place our orders and start chatting. I notice Finn staring at me and wink at him just as the waiter comes with our food. The waiter walks away and I hear Jack speak up, "We should go to my house after this, my parents are outta town so yall can sleep over."

Everyone agrees, before looking at me for a response, blushing a little I quietly respond, "Uhm I'll have to ask my mom, she's suuuper strict." as I pull out my phone and Sadie responds, "Okay. I hope she says yes though, cause I dont wanna he stuck with these shit heads."

The boys groan in protest, and I send a message to my mom

to mum🥰: hey mum, one of my friends from school is inviting me and a couple friends to stay over at his house, is it okay if I go?

Waiting for a response I listen to the conversation going around me before I feel my phone vibrating from a text message,

from mum🥰: Yes sweetheart, just dont do anything unsafe please. I'm happy your making friends!

Smiling I tell everybody, "My mom says I can!" Sadie squeals and smiles wide before replying, " Yesssss, we absolutely have to play a game of truth or dare." and she smirks a little before noah peeps up, "No. We are not playing those games Sades."

Confused I ask why, "Well why not Noah?" He quickly responds, "Well Sadie here likes to play truth or devil dare, which always consists of us exposing each other or doing the most crazy shit." and the rest of the boys nod in agreement.

Smiling a bit and trying to contain my excitement I calmly respond, "Well doesn't that sound like fun." and the boys quickly look at me with mixed horror and confusion, and Sadie grins widely at me.

Everyone goes back to their conversations like before, as we finish up our meal. I notice Finn just played around on his phone and kick him under the table. Startled he looks up at me with a confused expression. Sending him a flirtatious smile I ask him, "Wanna play a game? I'm bored."

Putting his phone down he slowly nods and asks, "Sure, whaddya wanna play." Tilting my head to the side I respond, "How about 20 questions? I think it'd be nice to now you better."

Nodding he responds, "I'll go first?" I simply nod in response and he slowly runs his hand through his hair before asking, "What do you find attractive in a guy." my eyes widen at how casually he asked that and my cheeks start to turn to burn as I awkwardly couch out, "I guess he should be a supportive, loving and caring with a goofy side, and a bit of freak in him."

Smiling mischievously he looks at me before responding, "Freaky huh? I didn't know that the Brit was into that." my face starts burning as he continues to stare at me while I respond, "Yea I like freaky, is that a bad thing?" he laughs so suddenly that everyone turns to look at us with a weird look before going back to their conversations.

The rest of the questions turned to be fairly simple like favorite movie, color, food, stuff like that. An hour passed before a waitress come over to give us the check before saying, "We're closing in 10 minutes so we'll need you guys to start heading out soon." nodding our heads Sadie passed the waitress her card to pay and we all started to get out and head outside.

Once Sadie came out to join us jack looked over to me saying, "I'll text you the address can you gimme your number?" handing him my phone we swapped numbers. Finn, Jack, Gaten, and Caleb all got into a car and started to drive. Sadie looked over to me before asking, "Can I ride with you? My brother dropped me off earlier on his way to work."

Nodding my head and smiling we got in the car and started driving. Sadie looked over at me with a teasing look, "Looks like you an Finn were hitting it off back there." blushing a bit I nid my head as I respond, "Yea we have alot more in common than I expected." smiling softly she said, "Your lucky you know? He normally pushes people away and refuses to get close to them."

Widening my eyes in shock I quickly respond, "Really? He seems like such an outgoing person I had no idea." nodding her head she tells me, "Yea I met Finn last year when I started dating Caleb. He was kinda edgy around me at first. Always avoiding my questions and not talking to me unless he had to."

Shaking her head with a smile she continues, "After about a month of me hanging out with all of them he finally opened up to me. I had asked him about his family. He told me that his brother had moved out three years ago , and his parents were never home."

Smiling sadly and looking out the window she continued again, "Basically he lives by himself, and his only family are the boys. So when I came in the picture and was always with Caleb he got kinda jealous. It took him a while, but eventually he warmed up to me, and hes like my brother now."

Looking over at her quickly and breathing deeply I respond quietly, "Yea I get how he feels tho, my family is great but they dont really care about me. My family was my friends as well, but after we moved the connection just isn't the same."

Looking over at me with a smile Sadie responds, "Well, you're always welcome with us, you're family now." grinning I pull into the Jack's driveway and tell her, "Yea I already know that you're going to be my new family."
