I had just moved into my current house. For once, all seemed calm.We all thought that maybe we finally escaped all the ghosts from our past. All was quiet until about two weeks after we moved in. I was doing dishes one night when I heard a girl scream come from the opposite corner of the house. I ran to my sister’s room, thinking it was her, she was fast asleep. I shrugged it off and went back to doing the dishes. Another scream came from the same part of the house, and this time, my stepdad and older brother heard it too. We all went back to my sister’s room, but again, she was asleep. At the end of that night, finding no logical explanation for what I heard, realized that we still had ghosts. The girl, as we assumed, went quiet and occasionally screamed but none of us had seen her yet. That is, till the following summer. Night had fallen and everyone was quiet and in the bed. I was watching TV in my room in the dark when I looked out of the corner of my eyes. I wasn’t prepared for what greeted me. I looked over to see a girl that looked like the girl from the ring, walking towards me. I freaked out and hid under my covers. My mind raced to figure out what I just saw. I realized that we had a pond behind our house, and she looked like she had drowned in it. I pieced together the mystery of this little girl while everyone else was asleep. I didn’t mention my encounter with the girl to anyone till months later. When I finally did, My little brother came forward too with his own story. HE awoke one night to see a shadow in the corner of his room. He thought it was my sister, so he started calling out for her. His blood ran cold when he figured out it wasn’t my sister. The girl walked a little forward and they sat there staring at each other. After about 5 minutes, she ran at him, making my brother fly under the blankets.A few days after the girl incident, I awoke from a strange dream, one that I’ve never had before. The dream was about my mom dying
The girl still makes herself known every once and awhile. I had come to accept that ghosts would always be around, no matter if I liked it or not. I did my best to help the little girl, but my efforts stopped short. By this time, everyone else in the house knew about the little girl, but only my brother and I had ever seen her.
