I trudged across the pavement.  The icy cold wind blowing fiercely at my face.  The shops were starting to close.  Mums and dads running around in the falling snow from place to place, dragging their children across roads.

As i turned the corner with the pet shop on it, i caught sight of the train station.

Phew!

I practically lived here.  As i walked in through the automatic doors, i looked over at Gina, a sweet girl, in her thirties, pregnant with her first child.

"Hiya love" she called to me from behind the counter with "tickets" inscribed on a sign above.

"Hiya, blimy it's chilly!" I replied, making my way over to her.

"I know! Conor had to go out in it earlier on bless him.  Buying things for the baby" she added.

Conor, her husband, was a generous and caring man.  He was a little younger than her, about twenty-eight i think.  He had blonde hair that always stuck up at a funny angle, with a dead cute face and a slender structure.  Gina was a small girl, also slender when she didn't have a baby growing in her stomach.  Her brunette hair was always in a side plait and her bright blue eyes were the most beautiful i had ever seen!

"Single to Manchester again please dude" i replied, pushing a fiver under the glass onto her desk.

"No problemo".  She tapped away on the screen and i watched as the ticket was spat out of the machine.

"There you go hun" she replied, sliding it back to me.

"Thanks" i replied, slipping it into my purse.

"Have a nice ride babe" she cheeped.

"Bye love" i replied and waved as i strolled off in the direction of platform four.
