"Talk baby girl, what is it?" Jex's voice breaks me from my thoughts. I pull my attention from staring outside the passenger side window, and turn to look over at him in the driver seat.

"Huh?" I whisper.

"You haven't spoken a word since we got in the car and we've been driving for almost an hour."

"Sorry. I uh, I'm fine. Just thinking,"I give him a small smile.

He reaches over and takes my hand in his. "I think I know you well enough to know that something is on your mind."

"It's nothing, I'm fine, really. It's just family stuff and I don't want to ruin our night," I give him a small smile.

We drive a few more minutes up the road and turn off onto the road of the new restaurant, finally arriving in East Cliff. Jex pulls the car into the car park and we drive around in a few circles until finally, we find a spot and Jex parks the car.

"Nothing is nothing Bella. I know we agreed not to talk about the Cobras and Vipers, but if something is bothering you, talk to me."

I sigh softly and nod my head. "I kind of skipped out on family dinner to come on our date tonight. But it's okay because my brother needed a sit down with my parents and maybe it was better I'm not there," I sigh once more. "My brother got a girl he'd been sleeping with pregnant and he's broken over it. I don't know how things are in your world, but in ours, if you get someone pregnant you marry them, you raise the baby together and live like a happy family, even if you're not."

Jex nods slowly. "It's the same in my world. If you get a girl pregnant you have to step up, marry her and raise the child."

"And I know it's his own fault because he should have been more careful, but I feel so bad for him and there's nothing I can do to help him out of this one."

"Take a deep breath," he squeezes my hand. "First of all, you should've told me all of this was going on and we could have rescheduled our night. I do understand you wanting to help your brother, but you're right, there isn't really anything you can do. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what comes of the conversation your brother has with your parents."

"I shouldn't let it worry me, I know," I sigh once more. "But I've never seen the level of sadness in his eyes that I did today."

"Do you want me to take you home?"

"What? No Jex, we just got here and you booked a table," I shake my head.

"It's really no trouble. I can go in and re-book us for another night, then take you home. I don't want you worrying about all of this while we're an hour away from home."

"I promise I want to stay, I want to have dinner with you and I want to be on this date with you," I reach over and pull playfully on his tie. "You look way too handsome right now for us to just go home," I lean in closer.

"Mmm, meanwhile you look so beautiful I have no issues just taking you home," he pulls me in closer and smirks against my lips.

"Jex," I giggle against his lips. "We're going to lose our table if we don't get in there."

Abel's POV: (home)

"Your sister seemed really worried about you before she left," Mom comments, as she, my father and I sit around the family dinner table together.

I sigh deeply and place my knife and fork down, then look up toward them. "She probably has every reason to be," I sigh once more. "I fucked up and I know you guys aren't going to be happy about it. But I can't change it. I'm going to be a dad."
