"Are you sure that was a good idea?" Nokiya asked Mari, gently placing a hand on her shoulder.
Mari placed a hand over her chest, her eyes back to normal as she looked at the ground. "Don't worry, I agree with you. I think trusting Medusa is stupid, but Artemis was adimant, and I'm willing to stand by her."
"I trust her judgement. I'm also hoping that what she said about Arachne is true, and she can be convinced to change her ways as well." Nokiya nodded.
"Me too. But Arachne has always been more violent than Medusa. Medusa is always defending her own territory, while Arachne is far more aggressive. Not to mention, she's much more violent."
"I heard she pukes acid onto men's faces and into their mouthes to melt them from the inside." Akiya noted, loudly.
Ariadne glared at her along with Mari and Nokiya. Akiya shrugged, only for Camelia to appear beside her and punch her in the shoulder. "Don't open your mouth unless it's constructive." Camelia warned her.
"My bad." Akiya shrugged. "I just thought you all should know."
"Someday I will find a muzzle for you." Nokiya grumbled.
"Kinky."
The forest ahead of them began to fade into small shrubbery, before they paused in front of a large canyon. There were several pieces of broken rock jutting out like teeth from all sides of the canyon, and across they could see large stalks of glowing green.
"This doesn't look natural at all." Nokiya noted, examining the features of the canyon. "It looks like something carved into the earth, or pulled it apart."
"This wasn't here before." Ran noted. "Do you think it could have been an earthquake?"
"It looks more like something cracked this on purpose. Look how almost perfectly it separates the regular forest from the mushroom forest." Nokiya pointed across the way.
Akiya couldn't help but pay a bit closer attention to the other side of the canyon. The stalks of green ended in large bulbus structures, while blue and green mushrooms blanketed the ground below them. Some grew upwards of ten feet tall, while others barely came up to their knees. She glanced up seeing whisps of little spores floating above them, giving off a very faint glow. Below them was a endless river of glowing blue lights that didn't seem to be moving at all. It gave the canyon enough light to see normally, but it still felt like she was wearing sunglasses of some sort.
"Hey Aria, how's your vision?" Akiya asked.
"I can see alright. It's still very dark mind you, but it's far better here than in the forest, though I'm not entirely sure why." Ariadne answered.
"Maybe your eyes are adjusting to the darkness?" Nokiya asked.
"I've heard that Nymphs are quickly able to adjust their forms to their surroundings. It's very likely by the end of this excursion you will have perfect dark vision." Ran explained with a gentle smile.
"That would certainly be handy, though I'm not sure how much of that is true." Ariadne smiled nervously.
Camelia pointed. "Should we just cross then?"
"That's a twenty foot gap, so we're not jumping." Nokiya offered. "Flying across will be easy." The oldest twin transformed into her dragon form before gently picking up Ariadne and hopping across the canyon. Jurgen and Mari transformed and followed after her with Ran simply folding her legs under her like she was seated in mid air before levitating across effortlessly. Akiya and Camelia couldn't help but stare at her for a few moments before Akiya transformed and made their way across.
