How long will it take for you to get comfortable with someone?

Nandini although watched the buildings and people passing by through the window of the car, she kept glancing at Manik every now and then.
First of all, she felt nothing seeing his Audi and absolutely felt no excitement sitting inside it. She was weird and she knew it. Yes, she was surprised when she heard about him having an Audi but that was it, she never had a thing for cars.
"What is it?" Manik asked after she didn't say anthing but still kept glancing at him from time to time.
"You didn't tell where we are going." She complained and he chuckled stealing a glance of her expression. She was adorable and she knew very well how to use that cuteness infront of people.
"We're going to a quiet place and that's all I am going to say. There I don't have to hide nor have to fear of anyone recognising me." He informed and she sighed knowing he wasn't going to reveal it.
After he had made her comfortable enough, he suggested to opt out of that place because it was too noisy. When she had looked around at that, she found people even laughing softly because apparently they didn't want to seem too loud or uncultured.
She chuckled to herself and it caused Manik's attention.
"Can you share the joke with me?" She looked at him and frowned. What was he talking about?
"You're laughing to yourself so I thought I can have a good laugh too." He further explained and she realised what he meant.
"It's nothing. And are we there yet? You know I have to get back home today itself." She teased and he rolled his eyes before applying the brakes and startling her.
"Well I thought I could kidnap you and take you to my place." He replied sarcastically removing his seat belt and she did the same, looking around.
"What is this place?" She asked mesmerised by the view and he smiled looking at her. He knew she loved the place from her expressions and that was enough.
"My secret." He whispered in her ear and she visibly shivered before turning to him.
She stared in his eyes which stared at her right back with such an intensity that could make anyone melt. Yet she couldn't look away even if she wished to because those chocolate brown eyes had her as captive.
"Then why did you bring me here?" She questioned not breaking the eye lock and he stepped closer to her.
"Because I want to share my every secret with you." Her breath hitched at his confession. He was only at a hands distance away from her yet she could feel him close.
He raised his hand and tucked a loose strand of her hair which had been dangling on her cheek and she could feel the warmth of his hand.
"Why?" She whispered back and watched as his eyes slightly darkened.
Another step closer and he had invaded her personal space which surprisingly she didn't mind at all. He looked down at her with such warmth and tenderness that she had no reason to run away.
"Because I want to write my every song for you, I want to sing my every song for you. I want to be just Manik but only for you. I don't care who gave you that Wrong Number but I'll be forever grateful to that person for it brought you close to me. And I will be forever grateful to you for trusting me and not throwing me out of your life when you easily could have." He finished and she found her face secured in his hands.
She found her eyes tearing up and so she removed his hands and moved away.
"You don't even know me Manik. These chats and calls are nowhere near to know what a person is like." She sniffed looking st the scenic view ahead and trying to control her tears.
She felt him beside her but didn't care to look at him because she knew if she would even glance at him, she will definitely cry.
"I agree. These chats and calls are nowhere near to know anyone but isn't it enough to see the nature of the person rather than her qualities and abilities? For me it's enough and I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend Nandini." He chuckled but the strain in his voice at the end couldn't be unheard.
"Manik I─" She turned to him and started but he abruptly turned towards her and shushed her.
"Shh, I know Nandini you like Ahaan. I'm not going to be a barrier between you two but I guess I just had to get this off of my chest." He mumbled the last part looking down and she felt helpless.
"So yes, this is it then. No hard feelings but Nandini can we still keep talking?" He pleaded through his eyes and she bit her lip to stop the tears which eventually fell.
Not able to find her voice she just nodded and he smiled painfully.
"Let's go. I'll drop you home." Without waiting for her reply he turned around and walked away while she just stared at his back.
"I don't like Ahaan." She whispered in a broken voice as she watched him sitting inside the car.
