This character gets a lot of hate for being the way she is in the anime, however, her attitude as i would say is quite finer in the game. I've seen a lot of people from the diahell fandom throw hands at eachother just because some hated her and some loved her back, an issue like this may arise in any fandom if half the people favour one character and the other half do not. I would like to bring out what i think about her.
I do not favour her, i do not like her. But i do not see why she would deserve hate for her mere personality alone. This character is strong (tn/ read the manga; watch her at a point where she stood up for herself against Yuma). So yes, me disliking her does not prove that she's (bad, boring..etc). I simply wouldn't care to speak ill of her since i do not HATE her. Don't really have them strong feelings.
But, a lot you might say its because of her personality only. But i disagree, we are simply not choosing to support her because she is not the way we would want her to be. She is unwillingly submissive to the boys; so we think that if we were her, we would be willingly submissive without showing a great amount of hesitation, this is the mere cause of why we call her a fool.
Her "airheadness" isn't that serious to hate her for, it's not a huge deal. It's the tempting burn of jealously we have in our little masochistic hearts to be in the place of Yui since we are very much smitten by the boys. I'd say that this makes us turn kind of sadistic towards her.
So in conclusion, i do not hate or love Yui, but i will never say that she is a terrible character and so on. And no one should force the other person to hate/favour a character just because they do themselves.
