Chapter 4

JAKE'S POV

I never heard Kaylee refer to Sky as 'Skylar', so this was weird. She gently let go rubbing her hands on my arms going down to my hands. I tried to pull away, then she dragged me over to the laundry room and closed and locked the door. "What are you doing?"

"Skylar doesn't like you. I do!" She said putting her hands on my face. I grabbed her hands and put the down against her sides.

"You're drunk and have no idea what you're talking about." I said reaching for the door.

"No! It's true," she blocked from the door,"2 years ago, we made a bet that she could get you to be her boyfriend for more than a year. She won of course and I had to pay her 100 bucks. I liked you all along when she hated you. She hated you because of your attitude and said that you would never go out with a girl like her."

"Kaylee! Kay! Where are you?" I heard Ryan yell from the hallway. I pushed her out of the way and opened the door. "Kay-" then he turned around and saw us. "Kaylee! I gotta get you upstairs. You know how Mrs. Henderson hates us being drunk in her house!"

"Okay baby!" then she laughed drunkenly. "What I said is true! Ask Skylar!" she said looking back at me. I watched her and Ryan go up the stairs. I went to go to the bathroom and then went back in with Sky. I finished dinner and then we went in the music room. I was thinking about what Kaylee said and maybe she was right. I refused to ask Sky tonight about it though because we were so excited to see each other and I didn't want to kill the moment.

In the music room, me and Sky played guitar and sang songs. Only God knows how much I love this girl's voice. We were thinking about starting a band but school got in the way. One of my surprises for her was a song that I wrote her. When she heard it, she freaked. I love her so much. She's one of the most amazing things in my life right now. We had a minute make out session in the music room when we were interrupted.

"And we have to keep it pg? You guys are practically swallowing each other!" Ryan said. She smiled pulling away from me and turning to Ryan in the doorway.

"Well, this is my house. I can do what I want." Sky said all sassy. I loved it when she got feisty. She's so sexy when she does that. At about 2 in the morning, Sky fell asleep in my lap in the music room. I kept looking at Sky; rubbing her face, brushing my fingers through her hair. I can't sleep mostly because of what Kaylee said to me. What if it's true?

"Where's Kaylee?" I said asking Ryan as he came back into the music room.

"She's asleep in Sky's room. Dude, stop looking at Sky like that. You look like a stalker."

"Don't tell me what to do!" I said a little too forcefully. "I'm going to sleep." I picked up Sky to take her in her room. I put Sky in her bed and tucked her in. Then I went into the guest room that I was assigned to and went to sleep.

SKY'S POV

I woke up at about 10 in the morning. It was Monday. Today, Jeffery was taking Kaylee, Ryan, Jake and I Christmas shopping. I was so excited to get gifts for everyone. My mom gave me her credit card to use. She gave me a list of people to get things for. I took a quick shower and put on my Minnie Mouse sweater with red leggings and Ugg boots. I met up with my friends in the game room. Ryan and Jake were on the X box while Kaylee was taking selfies in the mirror. She loves posting pictures of herself on Instagram.

"You guys ready to go? Jeffery's downstairs starting the car." I said with a little too much excitement.

"Hey, babe. I gotta ask you something." Jake said while Ryan was powering off the X box.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Remember when I excused myself last night and it took longer than usual?" I nodded. ''Well, Kaylee was drunk and she told me that she liked me. She said that you hated me and that you guys put a bet together saying that I could be your boyfriend for at least a year. Isn't that crazy?" He said laughing. I was shocked. I couldn't say anything. Kay and I promised to never bring that up again because I felt so bad about it, but she was drunk so I couldn't really blame her.

I looked back at Kaylee who was already looking at Jake in disbelief. "Uh...yeah, babe. That's so crazy.'' I replied looking him in the eyes. He stood up from where he and Ryan were sitting on the carpet.

"It's not true though, right?" I stared at the floor because I couldn't look at his eyes because it was true. "Sky?"

"Babe, can we talk about this later. Jeffery's-"

"Skylar. I don't care about Jeffery. This involves all of us so you can tell me now."

Kaylee came over to me. I could tell that she was about to say something, but didn't. Ryan was looking at me and so was Jake. I could see the fury in his eyes. I hated to see him like this and he called me "Skylar". He never does that unless he's pissed.

I sighed,"The truth is..."
