The Three Proud Sisters

  Once upon a time, there lived in a small town of Ozi, a chief named Ukata had three daughters: Ada, Ngozi, and Nneka. These three daughters were very beautiful and proud. They were so beautiful that so many men wanted to marry them. They said that the only the man who could mention their names would marry them. At home, nobody called them by their names. They were called pet names like Auntie, Beauty or Love. This made it difficult for any man to know their real names. Many men however, tried but without success.
  After many men had tried and failed, Chuwkwuemeka declared his intention to find out the names of the girls and therefore marry them. Everybody laughed at Chwukwuemeka. "Look at Chwukwuemeka, he wants to succeed where many men have failed, " one of the men said. Cheukwuemeka was determined too succeed. He then drew A plan.
  These girls had A particular place by the stream where they used to take their bath. "I know what to do," Chwukwuemeka said to himself. Chwukwuemeka went and picked some apples and kept them near the stream.
  When the three girls came down to the stream, Nneka, youngest, was the first to see the apples. She called on get sister, Ngozi: "I have see something strange, Ngozi, come here and see for yourself," she said.
  "What is it, Nneka, that is strange?" Ngozi asked and moved towards the apples. "Oh, these are apples," Ngozi said. She then called on Ada to come and see the apples. Meanwhile, Chwukwuemeka was in the bush listening to their conversations.
  After the conversations, the sisters picked the apples and left. Chwukwuemeka to left. He went home and put on his best clothes, and headed towards the palace. He then said the names of the sisters and married them.
