I was led throughout the hallways, taking random lefts and rights. I tried to memorize exactly where we came from, but after about ten minutes of walking I began to lose track of all the corridors.

I assumed that all of these halls were underground, seeing as I didn't think all of this could fit into the tiny shack. There were dozens of heavy wooden doors lining each corridor and they all looked exactly the same. I was surprise anyone would be able to find there way around here.

After our twentieth turn or so, one set of double doors stood out from the rest. The entrance was grand, covered in a slick sheen and decorated with golden vines and embroideries. The doors look heavy, extremely heavy, and bared no trace of a handle.

Auran must of noticed my glance because he slowed his pace and gazed back at me.

"That's the auction room," he said. "Most auction items who go in don't come back into this facility. And seeing as you're a female, I'm sure I won't be seeing you again after tomorrow."

I wasn't sure if that was meant to comfort me or not, but I simply nodded and continued walking.

My life was over. I knew that.

The moment I was caught on the alpha's lands, I knew that I was already a prisoner. I couldn't help but think back to the girl who had coward behind me this morning. She was so small and frail, and she was mated to an alpha. Being a female with such prestige now, she would be given the best of protection.

I couldn't help but feel slightly jealous about that fact. I brushed off that idea. I didn't even know if I had a mate because I didn't have a wolf form. The goddess had made me different and I'm not exactly sure why.

Perhaps she knew that I would be captured one day and perhaps this was simply my fate. I would most likely be handed off to a wolf who would use me to carry his pups. Probably lots of pups. Maybe this was her way of repopulating the wolven race.

Maybe this was my purpose.

Auron finally came to a stop in front of a wooden door, one identical to its predecessors. He turned the knob and gently tugged me in. The room spilled dark, hazy light over the stone floor.

Darkness clung to every corner and surface of the room. It was suffocating. I wanted out immediately, but I forced my body to be still. Being dead would do me no good.

Auran paused in the midst of the room, completely still and calm. My gaze flickered around my surroundings. The room donned a single table with a chair. Atop the table lay various surgical instruments ranging from saws, to scalpels, to forceps. Dried blood was splayed over the table, my stomach twisting as I forced my gaze away.

Other than that, the room was completely empty aside from three oak doors on the right-hand wall. The light above flickered and my breath hitched.

The room itself smelled like bleach, and rotten corpses.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, dear," A shrill voice echoed from the darkness. My body tensed immediately.

"I have a pet who needs nursing," Auran reponded, his voice coming out cool and confident.

"A pet," The voice mirrored his tone. "A she-wolf. Oh, how delightful! Tell me girl, have you ever seen a Papyrus scroll without ink?" I scrunched my brows at the darkness. This was a mad woman I was dealing with. Auran glanced back at me and getured for my response.

"Y-yes," I said.

"Ah, but have you seen the scroll?" she replied. "One can mix up a cat with a caterpillar." The woman stepped into the light. She was of medium height, and carried a comfortable weight with her. She wore arrangements of multi-colored cloths tied all around her body and her fine, white hair was pull back into a long braid. She sported glasses that made her dark eyes seem far to big for her face.
