Chapter 10

As the morning sunlight shined thru the curtains of Gundham's cottage an announcement popped up on the screen that everyone had in their cottage.
"Good morning, students! Today is going to be a very sunny day! Perfect for a murder to take place don't you think?!" Monukuma laughed as Tanaka looked at the screen with frustration.
"Oh, one more thing! I need you all to gather down at the beach, for a little surprise! It seems that we have some, unexpected drama going on between two certain individuals." And with that the screen turned blank once again.

Gundham sighed and looked back at Kazuichi who probably never looked worse in his life. He was pale, bruised and on top of that missing an arm. Tanaka kneeled down next to him and smiled at him.
"Even if you don't hear me, I just want you to know that..." He looked away for a second to recollect his thoughts and continued. "That I will stay by your side forever. No matter what happens, I give you my word. I love you, Kaz." When he said the last few words, Tanaka started to tear up again. He laughed at himself. He honestly felt a bit pathetic for crying so much. How could he, the great Gundham Tanaka cry so much over some mortal.
But that was his mortal. That one pink haired boy who accepted him for who he was and didn't call him weird or judge him.
Yes, they started out on bad terms, but they eventually told the truth to eachother and were hoping to live happily. If they ever make it out of this killing schooltrip alive.

After a few more minutes, Gundham decided it would be best to make his way down to the beach. But at the same time he didn't want to leave his beloved pink mortal alone.
So he did what he did last time. He put Cham-P on the duty of "babysitting" again.

"You stay here, and keep an eye on him while I'm gone okay." Tanaka ordered as he gave the hamster a pat on the head and left to the beach.

As he arrived, everyone was already there. Except Soda of course. They were all looking at something and as Tanaka got closer he realized what it was. It was the same pool of blood that he found Soda laying in. Sheer dread spread all over his body and panic took over.
He stood a few steps behind the group and was looking into oblivion when Monokuma appeared out of god knows where and started laughing.
They all looked at the bear at the same time, some with anger, some with concern.

"Puhuhuhu! I see you already figured out what the surprise was!"
"What the hell are you talking about!?" Akane said as she approached the bear with her fists ready to pick a fight.
"Now, now. No need to get aggressive. I just wanted to inform you that there was an attempted murder, that surprisingly happend right here."
As Monokuma continued babbling on, Peko and Fuyuhiko noticed Gundham, who was still spacing out, and decided to go help him calm down.

"Hey man, it's gonna be fine. We'll figure out who did this to Soda and make them pay." The yakuza said, as Peko nodded alongside with his words.
"How is Kazuichi? Did he wake up yet?" Peko asked, and that seemed to snap Tanaka out of his trance.
"Oh he's- He's not waken up yet. But he looks like he's in pain." Gundham stuttered out as he looked at the ground. "Jeez. I still don't understand who would do such a fucked up thing." Fuyuhiko looked back at the group and that seemd to catch some of the other's attention.

"Hey! What the fuck are you three whispering about?!" Akane yelled, which made all of the group turn to face them.
"It's nothing don't worry about it." Peko reassured them as her and Fuyuhiko went back to the rest, leaving Gundham alone.
"What's his deal?" Hiyoko asked pointing at the breeder. Gundham just started back at them.
"You look very suspicious, don't you think?" Hiyoko asked while examining Tanaka's face for any give aways.
"Um... I-" Tanaka couldn't talk anymore. It's like the eyes of everyone were hypnotizing him and making him unable to do anything.
"Um guys? Has anyone seen Kazuichi? He hasn't shown up yet." Mahiru asked and the others looked around and shrugged.
"What if he's.... dead?" Sonia gasped as she covered her mouth with her hand and started to cry.

"But didn't Monokuma say it was an attempted murder? He could still be alive. Maybe he is the culprit?" Chiaki stated, not looking up from her game console.
"But he would be here wouldn't he? And the rest of us are here and no one is injured in any way. So that makes him clear for being the culprit."
Fuyuhiko argued back, even though he knew that Soda was injured, back at Tanaka's cottage.
"How could we be sure you aren't the culprit Fuyuhiko? You seem to know something that we don't." Sonia said as the rest looked at the yakuza with suspicion in their eyes.

"Why the fuck would I be the culprit? I consider him a friend, you assholes! I wouldn't go and kill a friend!"
"He does have a point." Nagito jumped in, trying to defend him as he was also one of the people to know what happened to Soda.
But the truth was that none of them knew who the culprit was. Except Gundham and Kazuichi.

"That doesn't make you clear of suspicion, Kuzuryu." Mahiru stated and all eyes were back on the yakuza.
"What the fuck are you talking about!? I was literally at the hotel playing Never have I ever with Peko, Komaeda, Hinata and Mioda. I have enough witnesses to confirm that I wasn't here when the murder took place!"
"I can confirm that. Young master was with me and the rest of the people he listed. We were indeed at the hotel last night." Pekoyama put a hand on Fuyuhiko's shoulder and he let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you! At least somebody is defending me."
"But what if you were both the culprits? You could've easily teamed up on Soda. And you also could've bribed the others to defend your asses!" Saionji pointed a finger at Pekoyama.
"I can confirm that they are innocent! They were with me at the hotel!" Ibuki chimed in and Komaeda and Hajime also nodded their heads.

Hiyoko then sighed and looked away, noticing Gundham who was watching the situation unroll with a blank, but worried look.
"What about mister animal lover, over there? He's been standing there like an idiot for like the past 20 minutes. He could easily be the culprit. After all both him and Soda hated each others guts, right?" Hiyoko snickered as she finished talking.
Gundham looked at her but didn't say anything yet again.
"What? No defending yourself? Are you just gonna stand there like a dumbass or are you gonna confess?" Saionji asked the breeder, but received no answer in return.
"Actually. I-I can confirm t-that h-he-" Mikan was cut of by a punch in the stomach, which none other then Saionji delivered.
"Shut the hell up, whore! You have no say in this! Just stay in the dirt like the pig that you are!"
"I-I... I'm s-sorry." The nurse cried as she curled up in a ball onto the sandy floor.
