Hayley's POV
I couldn't wait to go upstairs so I could call Jackie. I heard Alex on the phone with Brooke. He was talking low, but I could still hear what he was saying. He was telling her about our day and how Daniel spent the night and almost another whole day with us. I knew Brooke was going to tease Daniel soon as he walked into the clubhouse.
I made it to my room and sprawled across my bed. I sighed thinking about what had just transpired. As much as I wanted to wait to tell Jackie everything in person, I couldn't hold this to myself any longer. Next thing is I didn't want Leo to overhear all of this. I know he would be devastated especially after I tell him that I just want to be friends.
As much as I wanted to wait to tell Jackie everything in person, I couldn't hold this to myself any longer. Next thing is I didn't want Leo to overhear all of this. I know he would be devastated especially after I tell that I just want to be friends.
This was something that only I was trusting her with. I called her and she sounded like her normal sarcastic self. She told me that she was heading to the beach so that we could talk privately. I wanted to skip the small talk and apparently so did she because we both said at the exact same time, "I have something to tell you!"
"You go first, you are going to need some time once I tell you," I replied. I heard her sigh and then take a deep breath. "So you know when I went to go find Max after you introduced me to your parents?" Jackie asked. "Yeah, what happened?" I asked curiously.
"I went to Max's computer lab and Emma was there. I figured that they were going to be together as a couple so after I welcomed her back, I left to give them some privacy." I was quiet because I wasn't sure where this was going, but I listened attentively.
"I went to catch some waves right after that because I wanted some time to myself. I came in and sat on the beach for a while. Max came to find me. He said that he was looking for me everywhere. I thought he was still going to be with Emma." I was dead silent because I still wasn't quite sure where this was going. "Ok so what did Max say?" I asked curiously.
"He told me that Emma wanted to be a couple. He said that he told her that she was great, but he wasn't interested because he's in love with me. He asked me did I know and I told him that I didn't. He asked what I thought at that very moment now that I knew and I just reacted."
"What do you mean you just reacted?" She sighed loudly before taking a huge breath. "Come on you're my best friend. You can tell me," I replied. "Well, I kissed him!" she confessed quietly. "WHAT?! Oh my gosh Jackie!" I squealed. "I know!" she exclaimed. "So it's safe to say you have feelings for him," I replied sarcastically.
"No, I just go around kissing boys," she fired back. I couldn't help, but to laugh. She busted out in laughter too. "Well, I kind of like you and Max together. You two make a good team." Her voice perked up. "Thanks Hayley," she replied. "So what did you want to tell me?"
I exhaled noisily. I didn't know how I was going to tell Jackie that Daniel and I are together. What's ironic is that the day Max showed us the encrypted message Emma left for him on the knight chess piece, we were all standing or sitting next to our now significant others.
Alex and Brooke were standing next to each other and got together right before we left The Greenhouse. Max and Jackie were sitting next to each other and after we left The Greenhouse to come home, Max confessed he was in love with Jackie and Jackie kissed him. Before we left The Greenhouse to come home, Daniel confessed he has feelings for me then when I was about to leave we kissed. When I got home I missed him so I texted him to come over and he ended up spending the night and most of the day today with me and my family.
