SO HANNAH AMOUX feels frustrated right now, but given her teenage angst coupled with a new move, is that really so surprising ?

Not only is she cramped in the passenger seat of the U-Haul with dog vomit covering her favorite Guns and Roses t-shirt, but her mother is in the seat right next to her droning on and on about how excited she was for her only child finishing her adolescent years in the same town she grew up in. It was an endless amount of, oh I can't wait to introduce you to the people I grew up with, you're gonna just love the house I bought, there's this diner that me and all my friends used to ditch school to hang out in that has the best milkshakes you've ever tasted--- blah blah blah blah fucking blah.

The mother and daughter duo hadn't even made it to Beacon Hills and Hannah already wants out. She didn't want to follow in her mother's footsteps, going to ditch school at the same old ass diner, sit in her same seat at the same High School. She wants new. And hearing an endless stray of oh I used to go there too when I was your age— is not new. It's trapping her in the same exact nostalgia and reoccuring loops that she wants out of. But alas, she's just a child— and children do what their told because mother knows what's best. Despite her mom moving her away four hours from her father being the exact polar opposite of the "best", but she digresses.

"Can we please find a rest stop ?" She cuts her mother off, wincing slightly because she knows she's broken the unspoken rule between mothers and daughters. She can see her mother sparing her a glance from the corner of her eye, but she lets her continue. "I'm covered in Cher's vomit and my shirt is starting to stick to me."

Hannah knows her anger towards her mother is displaced, but she can't find it in herself to care. Yeah, her mother took her from her toxic borderline mentally abusive father, but she also took her away from her aunts and her uncles and her friends and her life. So maybe... maybe she's allowed to be a little angry.
