Chapter 23: Reunited At Last: Part 2

*What better way to end the 35th anniversary of Queen making history at Live Aid than with an update! Well, here it is after months of being worked on! Alex's POV:

"Sheesh! I thought I'd never see the day where Shawn wanted to be on time for something." Lilah says chuckling. "I know Shawn is never on time. He makes us be on time, but he makes us wait for him." Bria says causing everyone to laugh. I look over and see Aria with this big smile on her face. Have you noticed that her hazel eyes sparkle when she laughs? No? Just me? Ok. Well, anyway, she has a beautiful smile. I am stirred out of my thoughts when she looks up and takes off with Ash not far behind. "PAPAAAAAAA!!!!!" they scream as I realized who they are running to. I look at Shawn and he is frozen where he stands. Aria and Ash crash into the man's arms as he holds them tight with the intention of not letting go. Is he hurting her? My body tenses at the idea of anyone hurting Aria like I want to rip his head off. I feel a hand on my shoulder to calm me down. "Easy, Alex. She's ok. That's her dad." Caden comforts me. I relax and follow my sisters and brother to Shawn. Maybe now he will believe us that Freddie Mercury is Aria and Ash's know father. "Holy shit, Alex!" Lilah whispers to me, "That's him! That's Freddie Mercury! In the flesh!" "I know!" I whisper back to her. I look over to Bria and she doesn't seem at all phased. I mean she is pretending like she is but it is so obvious that she's not. I watch her walk up to Shawn with the three of us following behind her. Oh man, I hope this goes well because I know it's a full moon tonight.

Bria stands at Shawn's right side slightly in front of him while I stand on the left taking Kay in my arms placing her on my hip, Hazel is still attached to Shawn's chest, and the other two are slightly behind us but making themselves known as well.. "Now do you believe me?" Bria asks chuckling up at Shawn. Instead of answering, I watch him as he places a hand on Bria's chest pulling her to his body. Boy, I've never seen him so speechless before. Kay takes notice of Shawn's new state and I don't think she likes it very much. She begins wiggling and grabbing his shirt, "Shoon!" she waits a second. "Shoon!" she says getting his attention causing him to look at her worried little face. "I'm okay, baby." he smiles taking a finger and softly pushes hair out of her face, "Shoon's ok." he reassures her. After getting a smile from Kay, he puts his hand back on Bria's chest showing off his bird as she grabs it and starts playing with his fingers. What we didn't realize was that Freddie had been watching us with the look of realization as his and Bria's eyes meet. "Hey." he says, "It's you! The girl from the duck pond. What on earth are you doing here?" "Yup. It's me. This is where I had to be at one." Bria replies. "You knew." Freddie says, "You knew who I was and yet you didn't say anything. Why?" "Because I had to keep the secret. It wouldn't have been fair to cause a scene when you were about to get Aria and Ash back." Bria explains resulting in a smile from the rock star as he hold his kids tight to him again. "And you must be Shawn." he says to our leader. Shawn takes a moment to find his word as he holds on to a bit of Bria's shirt like he was thinking she would leave him. "I am. And this is my gang of misfits." he says, "And if I may say we are big fans." Shawn smiles at his idol. "Then I suppose you are the ones to thank for caring for my children. Thank you." Freddie smiles reaching a hand out to Shawn to shake it. Shawn obliges but still keeping his wrist on Bria's chest. I don't think it has sunk in yet.

"Misfits you say? Well, I have said in the past that Queen is a band for the misfits and the outcasts. We belong to them. And that includes all of you." Freddie says with a smile. "Papa!" Ash draws Freddie's attention, "They sing 39!" "Do they now?" Freddie says to the boy. "It's more of a warm up song really. To pass the time. And also one our favorites." Shawn jumps back in and explains. "Well, I'd love to hear it sometime." Freddie says with a smile, but the smile soon fades as if he remembered something. "Now before my awful memory kicks off, I wanted to ask a question." he starts when he pulls Aria close to him, "In your note to me, you said that Aria here had one of a fit. How were you able to help her with out the proper medication?" "Ahhh. That's my special secret." Shawn says adding mystery to his voice. He pauses and waits for Freddie's reaction then explains the trick. "See, this one here," Shawn looks down and pats Bria's chest, "Has the same affliction as your daughter. I know special plants and herbs that can open the lung if the scent is inhaled. So what I did was make a special lotion that I put on Bria's chest and with in maybe 5 minutes she is able to relax after she has a spell. I used that very lotion on Aria and it worked like a charm." Shawn wraps up his explanation. Freddie looks in awe at what he has just heard and tries to find the right words to say. He looks down to the kids by his sides and then looks up at us. He says, "Thank you. Truly. Thank you for taking care of them and bringing them back to me. I don't know how I could possibly repay you." "You could come watch us play." Lilah speaks up, "You just said you would love to hear us so. . . Yea." Shawn looks over at Lilah and smiles at her attempt. "Thank you darling, but I'd really like to get Aria and Ash back to where we are staying, but maybe before we leave to go back to England we will come. Thank you, lovie, for the kind invitation." Freddie answers back. "Well, if you change your mind, this is our spot. We play at 7:30 every night." Shawn says with a smile, "It was not a problem to have them with me. I love kids. . . Obviously. . . And I always say that when I help a kid, I treat them like they are mine. It's even better when I can bring a family back together. It truly was an honor to meet you, Mr. Mercury and we hope that you have a safe trip back to England if we don't see you before you leave. Come on, gang, we gotta get going." "The pleasure is mine. . . Shawn." Freddie puts his hand out once more and they shake hands. We bid our goodbyes to our new friends as we make our way back to the apartment. I really wished it wasn't a full moon tonight. "So what happens now?" Caden asks. "We go back to how we were before. Except the difference is we have a new baby." Shawn says. "Shawn. It's a full moon tonight." I say with fear in my voice. "I know. It will be ok. We will do our show and then I'll take you to your spot to do your thing." Shawn says to calm me, "Everything will be ok." 'Everything will be ok.' I let those words sing in my head, but I really wish I could believe him. "Hey, Shawn!" Lilah speaks up. "Yea, babe." Shawn answers. "Did you see how Freddie was staring at Hazel? It was like he was drawn to her. I was watching him the whole time. It was really weird." Lilah asks. "No. No, I didn't. Huh. . . I wonder why." Shawn answers. "Me too." Lilah says. Before we know it, we made it back to our apartment to begin the next chapter. . . Little did anyone know that we would see the Mercury family in the next few years, but under very different circumstances.
