This book is full of abuse and self harm before it becomes a book of healing. If this sort of book bothers you then do not read it. Now with that be said this author does write and tell a good story.
I just wish she would remove her author notes. I found myself skipping the first 2-5 paragraphs or the last 2 or more paragraphs just to get past author comments in several chapters. (Which is why it did not get a THREE AND HALF paw review because those notes were distracting to the point I only gave 2-1/2 for that reason. In this case it was the distracting author notes that lowered the review.)
