He kept his words and walked with me to the bus stop. "Thank you, I am glad I bumped into you" No no no.. What am I saying!!! I mentally facepalmed myself..
why do I have to embarrass myself?
He sensed how I am regretting my words and said "I am glad you bumped into me, I could meet you in this way"
What!! Is he really saying that?
"Well, eh, my bus will arrive soon, are you going to board in too?"
"No, I just came here to drop you and to ensure that you safely board the bus" My heart was elated at his warm gesture. I could feel butterflies filling my stomach up to my throat. He was such a gentleman.
"Eh, if you don't mind, can I give you something?"
"Well, sure" I was quite anticipating at the moment to hear this voice.
"I want to give you something, it will keep you safe" He said and fished out a circular object from his pocket. It was a ring. It looked normal like any other ring you could find at any other normal shop of any other normal street. I chuckled at the sight of it "Why do you think an ordinary ring could keep me safe?"
"It is ordinary but still I would like to give it to you, but if you don't want then uh never mind". He kept the rings back in his pocket. My heart sank in, he was so sweet and was trying to give me something and I refused it like that "umm but I would have liked to accept it" I admitted hoping that he would give it to me. He beamed a smile at me and finally gave the ring "make sure to wear it always" He said.
I looked carefully at the ring, it was beautiful. But somehow, something felt unusual of an ordinary ring, maybe it's design, maybe the horse engraved in it, maybe the color of the metal, something was unusual that I couldn't point out.

"Okay, I'll wear it" I said and started trying to put it in any of my finger. One by one I tried in all but the ring only could fit in the fourth finger of my left hand. "Vena amoris" he said loud enough for me to hear it easily.
"What does that mean?" he looked weirdly excited and this sudden elation in his mood made me curious.
"You'll know it soon, I'll get going..umm if you are in trouble make sure to rub the ring lightly and call my name, I'll be there in no time" he said and started heading back to the lake.
"What was that? Is he a Genie or what?" I mouthed and recalled his last words "call my name..."
Wait!!! What is his name? I looked back to the direction he just left and I couldn't find him anywhere. It felt like he disappeared in dust.
