How We Met Part 2

After the wedding, I went straight back to my house. I got a notification that someone added me. It was Duke! I was so excited to see that notification pop up. He snapped me saying "hey". That's so boring, but I was ecstatic. I snapped him back obviously and we continued our conversation. Duke told me a lot about his life. He explained that he graduated from school a year earlier so he could continue his photography business full time. He has travelled all around the country from Hawaii to New York. I was very impressed that he had his whole entire life together. I'm a junior in high school and I don't even know what I'm going to be majoring in college.

It's around one in the morning and we were still talking. We just talked about life in general and it was amazing getting to know him. We then decided to facetime each other. I was very nervous to. I hate face timing, especially with people other than my friends. But I gave him my number.

He called me and I let two rings go by. I was so scared to answer, but I eventually did.

Duke: Hey y/n

Y/N: Hi Duke...

Duke: So do you live in Salt Lake

Y/N: I live like 10 minutes North

Duke: Oh wow than you must live close

Y/N: Oh that's pretty cool

(I got so awkward, I didn't know what else to say)

Duke: Maybe we could hang out sometime

Y/N: Oh that would be nice

Duke: How about tomorrow?

Y/N: Oh ya sure...

(Holy Shit! that was pretty fast. So many things could go wrong. My parents might not even say yes because they barely know him)

Y/N: Where would we hangout

Duke: How about the movies?

Y/N: Oh yeah that's fine

(Oh no! What did I just agree to?! Now I have to watch a movie with him where we have to be silent. I always hated movie dates. You never interacted with the person, you just sit there.)

We talked for a little bit and then I fell asleep on facetime. It was very embarrassing, but when I woke up. There was a sleepy Duke on screen. It was very cute not going to lie. I hung up because I had to get eat breakfast and getting ready for the day because I was meeting up with Duke. I had to ask my mom first though if I could go.

Y/N: Hey, so can I go out today?

Mom: With who?

Y/N: Uhh the photographer at Emily's wedding

Mom: Oh he's cute, but you're not going out with him

Y/N: Wait, what why

Mom: You barely know him and we're busy today.

Y/N: I do know a lot about him and what are we even doing today?

Mom: We're helping the neighbors clean their yard, and you already agreed to do it.

Y/N: Can't you ask Josh to do it. He does nothing around the house.

(Josh is my older brother and the middle child of our family. Everyone says that the middle child is the least favorite child, but I will ensure you that he's the favorite. It's so annoying.)
