I am personally not a fan of Dreammare, or incest in general.

I don't like incest, not because of the deformities in a potential child aspect of it, but because of the mental health implications of it. Something would have have to happened to severe the family barrier that gets in the way of someone being attracted to a member of their own family. Most of the time this is caused by having little to do with that person for an extremely long time and a general feeling that they aren't actually your family.

There have been plenty of cases of people needing to go to therapy after incest relationships because of a feeling of shame, disgust in themselves, etc. Maybe the relationship will work out. Maybe. But it does more harm then good.

Back to the actual ship. Lets say we pretend Nightmare and Dream weren't related. I imagine Nightmare would be very abusive towards Dream simply because of the "embodiment of negative feelings" thing. Negative feelings make him stronger, and Nightmare seems like a very power-hungry guy.

Dream, as the usual head-cannon is, would likely do his best to "make Nightmare good" again. This may very well continue to pull him into the abusive relationship due to a lack of concern for personal safety.

Again, lets say they manage to make this work, the abuse stops, and Dream "fixes" Nightmare.

That would actually be a cute ship! Nightmare perhaps would try redeeming himself in some way, or would struggle with his past. Dream and Nightmare, despite how they are often portrayed, are most certainly not immune to trauma. That past trauma would bring them closer as they begin to open up and talk about their feelings. They would comfort each other, and that would be a comparably healthy relationship.

TL/DR

Overall I'm not certain that these two are compatible, but there are very interesting stories to be made out of certain head-cannons.

3/10.

But of course, none of you have to follow my opinion. If you wish to present your open opinions on the ship, I'm an opening-minded person ready to hear anything. Present your arguments. ^w^
