She may seem a little strict at times, but she's not ever trying to make people feel bad, and is trying her best as a teacher. She may seem a little jealous sometimes over small things, such as attention or such with her close friends.

𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐈: You, a student at UA, hadnot been taking your course seriously, and had not handed your assignment in.
At the end of class, Maruyama had kept you behind. "Excuse me, but, you're on this course to become a hero, aren't you?" She asked you while you were sat at the desk.
The female teacher gave a long sigh. "I know it's not fun, but it'd needed in order to become a hero, Y/N. Do you understand?"
𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐈: You are quirkless. And you were currently being held as a hostage in a store, with your hands frozen to the counter.
About half an hour had passed, before suddenly, you heard a slam at the back of the store. Out of one of the aisles came flying the villain that held you hostage, before he was suddenly pinned down by a sort of tail that had split.
Then came out was the hero 'Tail Crown', given that name because of the crown-like aesthetic behind her horns. She knocked the villain out, before looking at you. "Are you okay?" She asked, before her tail wrapped around the ice, melting it for you.
