A Night in the Park
I fiddled with the tv remote in my hand as the moans from 'that' room grew louder.
Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I raised the volume of whatever show was on.
Unfortunately, it failed to mute my mother's whoring business in the back.
As the sounds grew increasingly louder, I gave up and turned off the tv. Grabbing my wallet and phone, I walked out of the shabby apartment while tossing on a jacket.
I walked to a nearby playground and sat on the cold swings. My ass felt numb..
"Hahhhhh~ I really should just run away from that hellhole.." I muttered, throwing my head back as I swung lightly.
"Running away isn't something a kid like you should be thinking about~" a mans voice interrupted my grumbling.
"Little boy, my ass. I'm not a little kid!" I glared as the man came into view.
'Ah, he's kinda handsome.. wait.. what..?' I shook my head vigorously to shake away these strange thoughts.
A man, seemingly in his late twenties, raised an eyebrow at me as he chuckled.
"You sure change expressions quickly! What a funny kid you are..." I blushed at his words.
Still, the moonlight reflecting off of his eyes drew me in. The breeze brushed his short black hair lightly.
Bathump.
Bathump...?
Why on earth was my heart beating for another man?
Before I could think further on it, I felt my forehead get flicked suddenly.
"Ow— what the??" I held my forehead and looked at the man, bewildered.
"What's got you contemplating about running away?" He grinned as he ruffled my hair, "I may be a stranger, but you can pour your heart out since I ain't got nothin better to do!"
...what a sociable man.
Well... I guess this was a rare opportunity to complain..
He took a seat on the swing next to me as I told my story.

Flashback
___
Ever since I was young, my memories of my mother were never positive.I always remembered men coming in and out of her bedroom, it was never the same man.
The strong smell of cigars, alcohol and sex, lingered throughout the messy apartment.
I always hid when they came around since they would always try to cop a feel on the tiny defenseless me, when that woman wasn't looking.
Luckily, that woman kept their disgusting eyes off of me.
While she wasn't the most caring mother figure, she at least separated me from her work.
Eventually, after being in such surroundings, I toughened myself up and changed my weak appearance to a stronger one.
I grew numb to the sounds from that room. Instead, I had developed a disgust for the opposite gender.
I ended up going to an all-boys school and launched myself into fights to release pent up anger and stress.

Flashback end
___When I started talking, I couldn't stop. For some reason, I felt like I could pour everything out to this random man.
When I finally closed my mouth, I felt a rough but warm hand wipe my eye.
"You're crying.. it must've been tough but at least your still here today." He gave a gentle smile.
Ah, that smile.
"...thanks for listening to me... old man." I muttered, embarrassed. I hadn't even realized I started tearing up for no reason.
"Ehhh?? Old man, but I'm only 25!" He whines as he wiped an invisible tear.
I let out a chuckle at his exasperation.
"Ah, you laughed! You really should smile more, you look good when you smile." He teased.
Embarrassed at his remark, I hit him in the arm and glared.
"Ouch~ I'm so hurt.. I only gave some advice." He pouted and put a finger in between my furrowed brows, "you really should loosen up, alright?", He grinned and ruffled my hair once again.
This man... he's so..sigh..
I gave up and lightly swung after swatting away his hand in annoyance.
He only smiled gently in response as he copied my swinging action.
"... it's embarrassing that I was the only one telling about myself.. why're you out here, old man?" I looked at him as I grumbled.
"Heh~? I'm not an old man!! Sigh.. well, if you insist on knowing...", he pouted thoughtfully.
"I just witnessed my girlfriend cheating on me after my business trip, so I kicked her and her little lover out and came to the park to mope~"
He threw back his head and gave an annoyed expression as complained."I come back one day early, thinking I could take her out on a date, only to find out she was having an affair~ sigh, adults have it tough..." he kicked the dirt lightly and wiped away another fake tear.
