Marty McFly lay fast asleep in his bed, exhausted from his long day at school. Hearing his phone ring, he woke up. Feeling around for the phone, he grabbed it off the holder and lazily moved it towards his ear.
"Yes?" He said groggily, before slightly perking up after hearing the person on the other lone sniff.
"Marty?" Rosie said. He moved slightly so he was at a better angle and sat up, worried.
"Hey princess. Is everything okay?" He asked her, gripping the phone tightly.
"I had a nightmare," she whispered, not wanting to wake her parents. Marty noticed the exhaustion evident in her voice, and came to the conclusion that she had just woken up as well.
"I'm sorry baby. Do you want to talk about it?" Marty asked, realizing that she was crying.
"I think I'm okay," she said, but Marty wouldn't have it.
"Unlock your window. I'll be over in ten minutes," he said. He hung up, grabbed his jean jacket, and carefully lifted his window. As quietly as he could, he jumped out and grabbing his skateboard. He road the way to his girlfriend's house and slowly opened her window, stepping inside. He saw his girlfriend sitting on her bed, hugging a pillow. She moved over and he sat next to her.
"Sorry," she said, and he kissed her forehead.
"Don't apologize. What was your dream about?" He whispered, hoping that she would talk to him.
"The rope," she said, and Marty gave her a confused look. She gently moved her hand to his neck, brushing her thumb against where the rope had wrapped around tightly, nearly killing him. He took her hand from his neck in both of his hands and kissed it.
"I'm okay. We're both okay. We're home now," he said softly. She closed her eyes and pulled him into a tight hug.
"I know. But so many things could have gone wrong," she said. He nodded, combing his fingers through her hair.
"Remember when you were on the hoverboard, flying after Biff?" She nodded, as he continued with his story. "I was so scared. Doc just kept telling me, 'she's okay. She'll be okay.'"
Rosie sniffed as she listened to him talk.
"And when you're ankle was shot. God, I almost lost it. I just held onto in the car as tightly as I could, hoping you were okay," he explained, wanting her to know that she wasn't alone.
"And I was okay," she said, looking deeply into his eyes.
"I know that now. And I get it. It's scary to think about it. But how about all of those crazy adventures," he said, and she smiled at the thought of the amazing things they saw.
"We are not naming our son Marty Jr," she said. He laughed, before covering his mouth, remembering that Rosie's parents could hear. She smiled and tucked her head into his chest.
"We can do whatever we want, our future isn't written yet," he said.
"Yeah, we can," she said, and he bent down to kiss her head.
"Get some rest, baby," he said, lightly pushing her down onto her pillow.
"Can you stay?" She asked. He nodded and kissed her forehead, separating the hair that had fallen on her face.
"For as long as you want," he replied, laying down next to her, pulling her into his arms. "You know, I like it better when you're not unconscious."
"Very funny," she said sarcastically, closing her eyes.
"I love you," he whispered once he was sure she had fallen asleep. Closing his own eyes, Marty McFly fell fast asleep once again.
The next morning, Robby Louis woke up, and walked towards the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of steaming hot coffee. Continuing with the simple task, he heard a noise come from his daughter's bedroom. He made his way towards the room and slowly opened the door, seeing his daughter's teenage boyfriend attempting to tuck Rosie's blanket around her.
"Hi there," Robby said, and Marty jumped, startled.
"Sir, I promise you it's not what you think. Rosie had a nightmare so I came to calm her down. I promise nothing happened," he said nervously. Robby rose a finger to his lips to signify quiet, and gestured towards the door. Marty nervously walked over, and Robby shut the door behind him.
"You know Marty, you can use the front door," he said.
"Mr Louis..." Marty started, worried that he would tell him that he couldn't see his daughter again, or get her in trouble.
"It's okay Marty. I trust you," he said, and Marty smiled.
"Thank you," he said. Robby pat his shoulder.
"Now you should get home before your parents start to worry," he said. Marty nodded.
"Thank you sir," he said, walking towards the front door. He left and headed towards his own home.
"What was that?" Nancy asked as Robby walked into their bedroom. He shook his head.
"Nothing," he replied, kissing his wife.
Rosie woke up to an empty bed, and immediately knew that Marty had left. She sat up, noticing a piece of paper taped to the wall above the bed.
Had to go home before my parents noticed I was gone. Call me when you wake up. Hope you slept well.
-Your SweetheartRosie smiled reading the letter, reaching over and grabbing her phone, dialing the familiar number.
"McFly residence," Marty said, and Rosie giggled. "Hi Rosie."
"How'd you know it was me?" She asked.
"I'd know that laugh anywhere," he replied. Rosie sighed contently.
"I love you so much," Rosie said.
"I love you more."
"Not possible."
"Is so."
