Rosé almost believed that what Hyeri said was so simple until she remembered something.
"Those lazy asses from the associates committee never do anything 'just because' You're hiding something, tell me what they really want."
Hyeri looked deep in thought, and then she spoke again. "You are so not fun, I can't hide anything from you, can I? It's annoying! But, as alway you're right, there is a little something you can do on this trip." Hyeri breathed deeply. "You are going to make a $50,000 donation on behalf of the Company at the writers convention gala in Puerto Rico."
As she said that, Rosé exploded at the same time. "I knew it! I just knew it! This is some trick to make me work even on vacation." Rosé growled. "But you know what? I'm not going anywhere. You hear me? I am not going!"
Rosé was really upset and Hyeri knew exactly what to do. "She's going to be there Rosé, are you listening?" that last statement made Rosé curious.
"She who?"
"Your wonder girl, the best damn author in the whole wide world as you keep saying. The youngest winner of the Nobel Prize of Literature, Kim Jisoo. Now, are you sure you don't want to go?"
Hyeri knew that this particular piece of information would change the accountant's behavior, but she had never expected to see her friend so excited that there was a gleam in her blue eyes, that she hadn't seen before.
"Eonnie, you are my best and only friend, and I would hate to kill you if you're lying. Tell me the truth, is she really going to be there?"
Rosé's voice sounded so different that it almost made Hyeri regret the task at hand. She had suspected that Rosé had a thing for the beautiful author, but this behavior went beyond what she had expected.
"Rosé are you ok? You look so pale."
"I'm alright stop changing the subject and answer my question."
Hyeri sighed, "It's true Rosé, she's going to be there signing her book and hosting the fund raising gala at which you are going to make the donation."
Rosé was astonished. "How can this be possible? You know that I follow her career closely, and I wasn't aware of this public appearance."
"It's not a public appearance as such, she is making her appearance as sponsor as well, but doesn't want to draw attention. After all, this charity thing is a personal matter to her, that's what she told me, anyway." The smile on Hyeri's face was huge.
"You...you spoke to her? You little shit, and you didn't tell me anything? Thank you very much, to think you were my best friend!"
Rosé just could not believe what she was hearing. Kim Jisoo was her favorite author, she considered herself Jisoo's number one fan, since the famous author had published her first book three years ago. Now, after a long day at work trying to leave everything in order before going on vacation, her best friend was telling her that she was scheduled to fly to an island in the Caribbean to meet the woman she admired the most with only two days to get ready, this simply was too much for her.
Hyeri saw the changing emotions pass over Rosé's face, and thought that may be Rosé's feelings for the author were more than simple admiration. It was going to be hard for the usually shy and bad tempered accountant to meet the author without further repercussions. Maybe there's something else here. She thought, but decided to leave the matter alone...for now.
"Gee, my friend, calm down, it's not the end of the world! Think about it this way. You have a paid vacation to the Caribbean to meet the hotty author of yours and the only thing you have to do is show up at a Fund raising gala, look good and make the donation on behalf of the Company, it's a win win situation don't you think?"
