May 4 , 2019. Nigeria.

My dear Kadinene ,
I received your letter with bountiful joy and mirth in my heart , and I must say , I am impressed with your performances over there. I am very good , this few days have been less turbulent due to the advent of Nissis , my wonder kid. He reads newspapers to my hearing and I must say he is quite smart ; how I found him was quite enigmatic , but trust me , it's worthwhile. I intend putting him through school after this lockdown (if it ever ends).
I heaved a sigh when I heard you are in love with a Canadian , I don't have any objections towards that , the times are changing , humans are mobilizing and tradition is quite fading away , these are trying times and out ability to cope were we are is quite a reassurance of the auspicious.
I thought about your counsel and I saw alot of sense in it , I decided to write an article which I intend publishing with Rarfixe and also my poem collection "verily it sprung".
Nigerians have seen quite some phases during these lockdown and suddenly they have become less religious conscious and more scientifically inclined. The nose masks , the party cancel culture , the no gathering , sometimes I wonder how we Nigerians even cope (you know , being who we are).
Recently, a quasi-rumour has been brought to my desk from some source that I can't really trace (you know Nigerians like parlour rumours) , it says, the Corona virus comes about as a result of the new 5G network which the Chinese patented ; I know it is as a result of some U.S.A conspiracy to place some ignominy on the Chinese development , maybe because they were first to patent such powerful internet network provider - the logic which they put forward isn't very logical and I would call it apocalypse from the fantastic four!
Like you said in your previous letter , the Corona virus has a right to live and Nigerians must face the reality , not only Nigeria but the world as a lager part - Nigeria is just a microcosmic facet of the larger entity.
I wish you best of luck in your Italian agitations and travails , please Nene , do take care of yourself - and stick to your friends , they are people who you keep close company with in these trying times (I wish I realized that in the earlier part of my life. Your mother was the only company I kept and when she left , I was left with nothing) , I don't want you to make the same blunder I made. Be good now.
Your Father ,
Professor Azuka Jesa.

P.S. : Of late , I started attending church programs , Nissis made me to.
