Chapter 7- When September Ends {Ronnie}

September was coming to a close and the effects of Homecoming propaganda were setting in. Elena had dragged me, Alex, and Hayley out dress shopping for homecoming. As you can probably guess, Alex wasn't too enthused, Hayley and Elena were lost in the maze of colorful dresses and I was pacing around by the dressing room hoping to find them again.

Alex came into the department with two Dunkin Donuts coffees in his hand.

"I wasn't sure what you liked but I didn't want to come back with a coffee and leave you empty handed." He gave me a goofy smile and handed me one of the cups. "It's regular."

"Thanks." I smiled and took a sip of the warm beverage.

"So you going to homecoming with anyone?" he asked. I froze. Oh god, what if he asks me to go with him.

"Uh, no not yet." I said filling my mouth with coffee to try and prevent myself from being awkward.

"Same here. I was gonna ask Elena but I've seen her sort of gazing at that Jordan kid your friends with." He said with a sort of shrug. "Did you know they used to be together?"

My mouth popped open. "What? Really?" Why didn't she say anything to me?

"Yeah, they were really close. Like inseparable. One day they were in love, the next they were complete strangers." he said taking a quick sip of his coffee and exhaling. "She even used to be friends with Bu- Christofer, your buddy buddy with him right?"

"Yeah." I said with a small smile. "I can't believe her and Jordan were together!" I huffed.

"Well hey don't bring it up. She doesn't like talking about him. But just recently she's been looking at him like the past few weeks something must've happened." He said, standing on his tip toes to, I assume, examine if they were around.

"You're very observant." I chuckled.

"I'm like that." He stood back flat on his feet and shot me a killer smile. I returned it best I could.

"RONNIE I FOUND A DRESS THAT WOULD LOOK GORGEOUS ON YOU." Hayley erupted out of a cluster of dresses with a dark blue metallic like dress in her hands, along with a bunch of others.

"Guys I don't even know if I wanna go to home coming." I said simply. Hayley, who had grabbed my wrist and began to pull me towards the dressing room froze and Elena peeked out from the top of a dress rack.

"Did I just hear you say that." She said.

"Um no?"

"You Miss are definitely going to homecoming our whole gang is going!" She made her way through the maze.

"You convinced Andy and Gerard to go? I mean I know Kellin and Frank would have wanted to go but Andy? He agreed?" I asked in shock "Even Gerard would rather go to a party then a school dance where he can't even dance with his own boyfriend without being made fun of!"

"Well sure him and Frank will just act like the best friends everyone thinks they are. As for Andy, he was harder to convince, but I told him you were coming and that it would be fun and such and he seemed pretty in." she shrugged kicking off her shoes and leaving them near Alex.

"Why'd I have to be included." I laughed.

"No reason." She glanced at Hayley with a quick smirk. "He just thinks your rad."

"Okaaaaay." I said.

Hayley shoved the dress in my hands.

"Now let's go try these on."

We all left Alex and chose stalls all right next to each other. I only had one dress to try on as for Hayley and Elena they had three or four.

I leaned against the door and helped judge their dresses. In the end Hayley ended up with a long and silk like dark purple dress that was simple but also really pretty. Elena found a short black dress with the neck and arms made out of black lace.

"Now try on that blue dress." Elena said after the two of them were changed and hanging the dresses up on a bar in the changing room.

I nodded and undressed then slipped into the dark blue dress. It was just my size and fell mid thigh and had a black belt with a flower with a clear large gem on it. The dress was also sleeveless an it looked really pretty. I adjusted my septum ring in the mirror as it was horribly crooked then walked out of the stall.

Hayley and Elena stopped their chattering and their jaws fell open.

"Holy shit Ronnie." Elena said.

"You look gorgeous!" Hayley exclaimed.

"Really? Thanks." I smiled and scratched my head.

"Buy it!" Elena smiled.

So I did. I went home later That night and showed my mom who was eager to see my happy and wanting to go to a dance.

Now, how to inconspicuously ask a boy I have a crush on if they have a date to homecoming.
