Five years old,
Not a care in the world,
Secretly watching as her mother and father embrace and whisper sweet nothings.
In full admiration, she thinks to herself that one day, she too will be loved in this way.Ten years old,
The happiness begins to fade.
What once was love now turned to pain,
She watched the man that she thought she had known pack his bags.
Tears streamed down her mothers cheek, eyes full of betrayal.
The girl silently thought to herself "Is this what it will be like?"Fourteen years old,
Naïve and lonely
Hormones pulsating throughout her brain.
At just the first glance, she was entranced
Deep down she thought that he was the one.
His angelic voice, poetic words
It wasn't long until she gave in to his desires.
Not long after did he go, leaving her broken and alone.
So young and fragile, she lost all shreds of hope.
Trembling, choking back tears she pleaded "Is this really what love is?"Sixteen years old,
Now wiser and grown
She believed that she had finally figured out the truth.
Through trial and error, she discovered that loved dose not just appear when we want it most.
Instead, it is hidden far beyond our reach
So that one day when when the right moment comes, we will finally find the one.
Love is nothing but a game of hide in seek, we live our lives searching for our soulmate,
Yet the moment we think that we have found it, we are only so much further from the truth.
