Bill's POV:
Surely I will be able to track her down today.
I return to the only diner in town as I think over how my soulmate will react. She must have seen my mark when she woke up today.... man, I would have killed to see her reaction in person!
A chime resounds through the shop as I open the door and the single waitress glances up from her table to glance in my direction.
Your POV:
I lock eyes with the creep as he enters.
"Go ahead and take a seat, I'll get your order in a minute." I say nonchalantly.
Internally I am panicking, what if he notices the makeup... what if he really is my soulmate... who goes to the same restaurant two days in a row?!
I nod through the order at the table I'm attending to, the older gentleman seems really grumpy for some reason but I brush it off.
I move sluggishly to the creepy guy's table I avoid eye contact but I can still feel his stare.
"What can I get for you today, sir?" I ask staring down on my notepad.
"Now doll, I do believe I told you not to call me that before." Bill scold me with a smirk on his face.
"I'm sure my soulmate wouldn't be pleased with me being anything but formal with a flirt like you, sir." I respond with a hand on my hip.
Bill's POV:
Hm... I take this moment of her being distracted to glance at her bare arms and the bit of skin peaking from her uniform and see no marks whatsoever.
"I'm sure your soulmate wouldn't be that protective, I mean he didn't even keep a mark on you. Didn't you have an armful of conversations yesterday?" I ask leaning in a bit closer to her.
She backs up quickly her arm bumping into the corner of the booth I'm sitting in. She gives a hiss in pain and I quickly grab her arm to assess the damage. I notice that a bit of dark ink is revealed on her arm before she pulls away and swiftly walks to the kitchen.
I turn in my seat to check the corner of the booth only to see a smudge of some kind of skin tone paint.
Oh... is that how she's trying to hide from me? Interesting.....
