This is Not How I Imagined It {MHA/BNHA}

PT 1 - graduation day

** IZUKU POV**

It's been nearly 3 years since I began my journey at UA and almost 4 years since I met All Might, my favorite hero and the whole reason I am where I am today. 

None of this would have happened without him. I would still be some quirkless loser going to some boring school and graduating to get a boring job. Instead I have been able to walk the halls of the best hero academy in Japan and work alongside of actual pros everyday. There may have been some bumps in the road;  especially first year, it seemed everyone was trying to kill us, but it was all worth it to be here today. 

I look through the crowd  and see all my friends I have made along the way and I can see how far they have come. Its insane. We have all grown so much since first year, its hard to even imagine us that way. 

I look over at Shoto sitting next to Momo, he was so cold and standoffish at first. He made it seem we were destined to be enemies though he didn't hate me as much as himself. But now I see a confident young man, who's dreams of being a hero are now realized and he seems really happy with Momo. I actually haven't seen him in a while, but that's because hes been able to replace most of his third year with a work study, and his quirk is so advanced and controlled that the pros don't even need to supervise him. He's practically a pro already, all he needs is to graduate. 

I find my seat next to Ochaco, she holds my hand and I can tell she's nervous. 

"What's the matter?" I ask her concerned , "this is exciting right ? we're one step closer to our dreams." 

She puts her hands in her lap and looks at them, "yeah I know , and I am excited for sure . its just ... well ... this is it ya know? once we graduate we will all go to different agencies and never see each other again" 

I guess I forgot about that part, for a while it seemed like everyone would be staying close and choose agencies here. But Tenya was the first and accepted to go to Tokyo to his brother's agency and then Tsuyu will be travelling with the coast guard, and little by littler our class started to disappear all over. 

"Well at least Todoroki and Momo will be around, and Bakugou, Kirishima, Kaminari will be pretty close by.. so its not so bad and of course you're stuck with me" I smile trying to make her more at ease with the future that awaits us. 

She sniffles a little and I can see something is really bothering her, "hey hey what's the matter? It will be ok I promise, " I take her hand again

"I'm leaving too Deku, I'm sorry. I should have told you sooner. I'm going to America to help clean up from the hurricane disaster last week, I'm sorry" 

Wow, that was unexpected. I mean of course I am happy for her and proud of her for doing something so noble while everyone else is just trying to get selected to best paying agency. We really have changed since first year, she was so determined to be rich and famous. Seeing her do volunteer work overseas is so amazing, but what the hell man why she picks now to tell me shes leaving.

" oh wow.. i guess i can't be mad at you for that. ummm.. can we talk about it after the ceremony some more?" 

She shakes her head, her gaze hasnt left her hands in her lap "we are leaving tonight, the plane takes off at 10. I am sorry Deku, this is not how I wanted to tell you I swear"

I am shocked, stunned by this news. Its all so sudden. I mean we spent the last 2 months together planning this out and choosing our future together and now she is just leaving for who knows how long. I am so lost in my thoughts of all this I barely notice that the ceremony is starting. 

All Might is giving our speech, but first out dear class rep has a few words to say. 

While Iida goes on about the 3 years of memories and how proud he is, I can feel someone behind me tapping me on the shoulder. 

"Mr. Aizawa? Aren't you supposed to be on stage right now ? or with the teachers?" 

He responds softly to not distract from Tenya's speech he worked so hard on, "Have you heard from All Might? He's late."

Late? How is he late ?
