Wrong timing- part 2

Henry's POV

I carefully carried y/n back to the man-copter, and back to the man cave. Once we arrived Ray called out to Schwoz who came running in with Charlotte.

"What happened?" Schwoz asked once he saw the concern in my eyes. 

"We got Drex." Ray answered absentmindedly as he dragged Drex's unconscious body down to his holding chamber.

"Is that y/n!?" Charlotte gasped, "Is she ok!?"

"I don't know." I answered. Schwoz guided me to lie her down carefully on the couch and I explained, "She got shot with Ray's plasma gun by Drex. He was holding her for lenience but Ray charged right at him and he-" my voice cut off from the panic strained in my throat, "I don't know what happened to her but she fainted and I don't know what to do."

"It'll be okay Henry." Charlotte comforted me, but I could tell that she was just as scared as I was.

"Where was she hit?" Shwoz asked as he got out a scanner.

"R-right in the side of her head." I replied and crouched down next to y/n, holding her hand desperately.

"How is she still alive?" Shwoz muttered and my eyes widened. Shwoz scanned her body and ran over to the computer, "How long has she been out?"

"I-I don't know like five-ten minutes?" I creased my forehead in worry. Shwoz hummed in concentration as he read the information on the computer.

"Interesting..." he muttered.

"What's interesting?" Charlotte asked and jogged to his side to read the texts, "Wait what? Should she have that much energy in her body!?" Charlotte asked shocked.

"No. That's definitely not normal." Shwoz shook his head and looked over to y/n, "I don't know how she hasn't exploded yet-"

"WHAT!?" I shrieked and ran over to them, "What energy?! 'Explode'?!"

"Calm down Henry." Shwoz told me.

"HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO CALM DOWN!? YOU LITERALLY JUST SAID Y/N SHOULD HAVE EXPLODED BY NOW! AND IT'S MY FAULT THAT SHE'S EVEN IN THIS SITUATION! IF I HADN'T RUN OFF THEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE, AND THEN I COULD HAVE-"

"Henry!" Charlotte broke me off, "You need to calm down okay? I know this looks bad. But look, y/n hasn't exploded like she should have. So clearly somethings different."

"What is?" I pushed. We both looked over to Shwoz.

"For some reason, when y/n was shot, her body absorbed all the plasma energy instead of being negatively affected by it. All the power of the gun is bottled up in her system. That's why she should have exploded on impact but she hasn't." He explained.

"So what now? Is she going to be alright?" I asked. Shwoz rubbed his face with his hands and sighed before answering.

"I don't know yet. There's a number of possibilities. She could either explode at any second, stay in this coma-like state-" my breathing hitched at that, "or... I don't know. She could just wake up and we'll have to see what happens." 

"Wait, she will wake up eventually right?" Charlotte pushed, now starting to show her concern. There was a pause when Schwoz didn't answer.

"SCHWOZ!" We both yelled.

"I said I don't know!" He defended. The sudden sound of the metal door lifting revealed Ray entering the room.

"How are we going Schwoz? Is y/n going to be alright?" Ray asked.

"I don't know!" Schwoz burst, "I don't know okay!? She might wake up and be perfectly fine but she might not! Only time will tell!" I ran my hands through my hair in frustration and groaned. I looked back over to y/n's unconscious body. Schwoz, Ray and Charlotte all started another conversation on ways they could possibly help y/n.

I walked over to her knelt down in front of her and took her hands into mine, "Please wake up y/n..." I begged. I rested my head on her hands but I was suddenly flung back in the air across the room and collided with the wall.

"HENRY!" Everyone shouted and ran over to me. I groaned in response and I looked over to y/n, panicked. When my eyes landed on her, while my vision couldn't focus, I could still see the purple rays pulsing from her body.

"What the..." Charlotte followed my gazed and saw the same thing.

"What just happened?" I groaned as I stood up uneasily.

"Y/n's body must be reacting to the plasma energy. When you touched her, it must have triggered a reaction and the energy inside her exploded." Shwoz marvelled.

"Is she alright?" I stumbled over to her, "Y/n! Y/n can you hear me?" I called out to her.

"Henry no! Don't touch her!" Charlotte yelled. I felt Ray's firm grip on my shoulder, stopping me from getting closer to y/n.

"What if it's hurting her? We have to help!" I argued. But we all froze when we saw y/n's eyes flutter a little before they slowly opened, "Y/N!" I broke free from Ray and ran to her.

"Henry?" She mumbled, "What-" Just as I touched her shoulder, a massive energy pulse erupted from y/n and flung me across the room, colliding with Ray, "HENRY!" Y/n screamed and stood up. Her legs buckled from underneath her and she fell to the ground. She held her head delicately in pain.

"Y/n. Be careful." Charlotte spoke. I shook my head a little to stop it from spinning.

"W-where am I? What happened?" Y/n frantically looked around, "What was that explosion?" 

"Y/n. We need you to just calm down for a bit okay?" Shwoz spoke and y/n's eyebrows knitted together.

"Who are you? How do you know my name? What's going on?" Y/n backed away a little.

"Y/n. It's okay. Calm down." Charlotte spoke cautiously, "Just stop for a sec and breath alright? Can you do that for me?" Y/n gulped and drew in a shaky breath. Her eyes travelled across the room and landed on me again. I stood up and went to walk towards y/n.

"Henry-" Ray started.

"I know!" I hissed. I looked over to y/n, "Y/n?" I held out my hand toward her calmingly, "I know a lot is happening right now. But I need you to just breath ok? Relax. It'll all be okay."

"H-Henry... did I- did I do that?" Y/n referred to the explosion of energy and I could see the panic starting to build up in her eyes.

"It's ok. It's ok." I cut it off, "Just look at me. You're okay."

"N-no! Don't come closer! I don't want to hurt you!" She backed away and her back pressed against the couch behind her.

"It's ok y/n. I'm here. It's going to be just fine" I smiled a little and crouched down in front of her.

"No Henry I'll hurt you again!" Y/n held her hands to her chest.

"No no." I said softly, "You could never hurt me y/n." I stared into her eyes, "...You could never hurt me..." I carefully took one of her hands and held it in my own. No energy pulsed out of her and she sighed in relief. "See?"

Her eyes locked onto mine, "What's happening to me? ...I'm scared Henry." She whispered.

"I know." I held her hand tighter, "But it'll be alright. Do you trust me?" We stared into each other's eyes for a moment until y/n nodded slightly.

"I trust you." She muttered.
