"That was the tenth break.." Tennis Ball whispered, standing in the cold room and quivering. He couldn't help but put on the most sickening smile as he made himself across the once organised and illuminated room.
Confused and startled, Golf Ball shifted back as he towered over her, his eyes dark. It was almost as if she could see the twisted idealism and the mess of delusional emotions that corrupted his deteriorated mind.
She hadn't seen him in years but he was the one responsible for everything.
She was sure, so sure.
So why was he supposedly here for her?
A small thud sounded as she hit the desk from behind her."Look at yourself, everything you have done to me, to yourself.. you.. AND YOU HAD THE DAMN AUDACITY TO COME BACK!" She yelled, panic rising in her voice. Golf Ball looked at him, trying desperately to find any sort of shift in his demeanour.
There was none.
Not that she expected it.
"Or was it the fifteenth??.." "twentieth?" "FORTIETH!?" Tennis Ball continued and proceeded to lock his eyes onto hers and shift a few inches closer.
"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!" Golf Ball screamed and frantically scrambled onto the desk, sending several unfinished projects onto the metal floor. She reached for the shelf behind her, all while maintaining eye contact.
Tennis Ball stood there, not even bothering to watch her fearfully searching the shelf.
A wave of relief struck her as she felt the cold, metal handle of a small but dangerous gun-like weapon. Shaking, she grabbed ahold of it and aimed it straight at him.Tennis Ball couldn't even attempt to rationalise the situation. All his logic was gone, destroyed. He had fallen into a pit of pure delusional thought fuelled by unhinged emotions and was now on his mission to bring around a moral revolution, where his first step was to purge anyone who didn't fall into his deranged view of morality.
After what seemed like ages, Golf Ball finally had the courage to speak:
"It.. wasn't my.. fault... it was never my fault.. this.. this is all just.. yours."
Her voice wavered and she tried everything to try stop her emotions from coming through, but they would just keep coming and she couldn't do anything about it.Seemingly out of nowhere, Tennis Ball collapsed to the floor into a writhing heap all the while wailing maniacally. Golf Ball slowly lowered the weapon and stared at him.
He's completely insane. How did he even manage to get to this stage? Or break, as he called it. This was someone completely different from who she knew.
And she was petrified. As she watched the scene unfold before her, she silently slid off the desk and made her way to the broken door on the other side of the room, being careful to avoid the scattered shards of glass and the now damaged projects.
"JUST SMILE AND NOD TILL IT'S ALL OVER, TENNIS BALL!!" he laughed, staring at the ceiling.
Golf Ball couldn't make sense of any of this but now she could now get a better glimpse at him. His face was somewhat contorted and tears were flowing rapidly from his bloodshot eyes.
"NEVER CHANGE!" Tennis Ball managed to choke out while rolling around trying to face Golf Ball, who had already made her escape out of the room.
