A Royal Canterlot Wedding

Pinkie pie was jumping up and down excitedly as they came into Canterlot. "We're here, we're here!: "Whoa, what's with all the guards again?" the rainbow maned Pegasus asked. " I'm sure they're just taking the necessary precautions. Royal weddings do bring out the strangest ponies." Rarity said "Now, let's get going! We've got work to do!" "And you've got a big brother to go congratulate." Applejack said. " Yeah. Congratulate. And then give him a piece of my mind." Sunset said sourly.

time skip to Flash and Sunset

"I've got something to say to you, mister." Sunset said annoyed. "Sunny! Ah, I've missed, you, kid. How was the train ride? I–" Flash Sentry said but was cut off by Sunset. "How dare you not tell me in person that you were getting married! I'm your sister, for pony's sake!" the fiery maned unicorn fumed. "It's not my fault! Queen Celestia has requested a major increase in security. Didn't you see all the guards at the train station?" the orange Pegasus said. "Yeah, there's a big wedding coming up. Maybe you heard about it?" the unicorn asked sarcastically. "It has nothing to do with the wedding. A threat has been made against Canterlot again. We don't know who's responsible for it, but Queen Celestia asked that King Shining Armor and I help provide additional protection. This, you need to see." Flash Sentry said as he motioned for the King of the Crystal Empire to come over. A white unicorn came over to the pegasus and unicorn. "Flash is there something wrong?" Shining Armor asked. "No there is nothing wrong. But do you know my sister Sunset Shimmer?" Flash asked. "No, I don't believe we met. I'm Shining Armor, Queen Cadence's husband and brother of the bride. Nice to meet you." Shining Armor greeted as he shook hooves with the orange unicorn. "Pleased to meet you as well Shining Armor." the orange unicorn said, before turning to her brother. "Now Flash what did you want me to see?" Sunset asked. "Oh, right. I know its a lot to ask Shining, but can you do your shield spell for my sister?" Flash asked turning his head from his sister to address his former captain. "Of course, I mean I did it for my sister when before I married Cadence." the white unicorn said before he lit his horn and shot a beam into the sky which revealed a magenta forcefield surrounding Canterlot. Shining winced when he finished the spell. "That spell still hurts every time I have to use it." the white unicorn said as he shook his head. "Thanks Shining." Flash said. "No problem, see you later Flash, I need to get back to my wife and daughter." Shining Armor said as he left the brother and sister. Sunset turned on her brother when the former Canterlot Captain was out of earshot. The burden of keeping Canterlot safe and secure rests squarely on mine and Shining's shoulders. Staying focused on the task at hand has been my top priority." Flash said. "Okay, okay, I get it. You've got a really important job protecting all of Canterlot with a force field only your friend can conjure up. But still... how could you not tell me about something as big as your wedding? Am I not that important to you any more?" Sunset asked hopefully. "Hey. You're my little sister. Of course you're important to me. But I'd understand if you didn't want to be my best mare now." Flash said. "You want me to be your best mare?" Sunset paused in her rant. "Well... yeah. the orange pegasus said looking at his sister. "I'd be honored! But I'm still pretty ticked you're marrying somepony I don't even know! When did you even meet this 'Princess Twilight Sparkle'? " Sunset asked. "Sunny, Princess Twilight Sparkle is Twilight, your old foalsitter. "Twilight? As in the Twilight? As in the greatest foalsitter in all the history of foalsitters?!" Sunset gasped. "You tell me. She was your foalsitter." Flash Sentry chuckled. "Ohmygoshohmygosh! Twilight is only the most amazing pony ever! She's beautiful, she's caring, she's kind..." Sunset trailed off remembering when Twilight foalsitted her.

*Flashback*

" I am so lucky to have you as my foalsitter!Young  Sunset Shimmer said. "I'm the one who's lucky, Sunset." Young Twilight said. "You're a princess. I'm just a regular old unicorn. Sunset Shimmer scoffed."You are anything but a regular old unicorn." Young Twilight said. Sunshine, sunshine, Butterflies awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!  Young Sunset and young Twilight laughed after their rhyme.

*End of flashback*

How many unicorns can just spread friendship wherever they go? I only know of one! And you're marrying her!You're marrying Twilight! You're marrying Twilight! Sunset sing-songed as she jumped around her older brother I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." Princess Twilight said as she ran up to the lavenderish white alicorn. "Twilight! Sunshine, sunshine, butterflies awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" Sunset said. What are you doing? Twilight, its me, Sunset!" Sunset said happily. "Uh-huh." Princess Twilight said uninterested as she walked up to Flash Sentry. "I've gotta get back to my station, but Twilight will be checking in with all of you to see how things are going. I think I speak for both of us when I say we couldn't be more excited to have you here. Right, dear?" Flash said as he put a wing around Twilight. "Absolutely." Princess Twilight said as she gave an evil smirk to the fiery maned unicorn. "Well, we'll let you get to it." Flash said. as he and Twilight left.
