"It wasn't meant to go this far. I swear" Elisa screamed to Rose. Who was running alongside her through small hallways, Shield agents close behind them, with at the front of them their two favourite super soldiers.
"Are we almost out?", Rose panted seeing the soldiers come closer and closer. "We have to split up" Finally getting out of the complex and into a free open space. Elisa and Rose split up running in different directions, and the soldiers following them.
A shot was heard, and Elisa fell down, trying fast to get up. Steve catching up to her trying to grab her to arrest her. Elisa grabbed the knife from her leg and tried to swing at Steve, but it didn't work, falling down from the pain from the shot. "I have her Bucky" Was the only word heard before Elisa's world turned black.
Rose had a little bit more luck, after having immediately turned a few corners being able to avoid the soldier for a few moments at least. Hearing a shot, she looked behind her, he stood there, but he didn't have a gun in hand. The shot was fired from somewhere else, Elisa maybe.
"Stop this Rose, Hydra has fallen" He spoke, Rose knew who he was, of course he taught her, but he betrayed them, her.
"No, you just left", Rose said pulling a knife. Not bothering to walk away from the fight, knowing he would catch up with her in no time. Bucky did the same "This wasn't what I wanted"
Bucky fought her, and won, of course she couldn't beat him she never could. The fight ended with Rose knocked out and bleeding from the head and leg. Bucky picked her up, feelings and memories returning "I got you. It's gonna be okay, you're going to be okay" whispering in her ear.
Waking up Elisa saw a few things first, she wasn't in Hydra territory, she was laying on comfortable bed, she was locked in the room she was in and she felt different. As if a heavy burden had lifted from her shoulders. She tried to get up from her bed but found it difficult. The shot, still hurting her back. The second try went even worse falling down from the bed on the ground. The shot landed in her thigh. Wobbling and stumbling towards the door she tried to open, locked. "Of course,". Slumping against the door, the bed too far away to even try.
After a few hours of lying on bed and trying to rest, escaping wasn't worth the effort. The door handle moved. A big figure walked in, Steve Rogers. The most wanted target in all of Hydra. He walked towards the desk and stood against it, saying nothing. The silence almost becoming too much.
"How do you feel?", was the first thing said.
"Sore"
"Your leg huh, let me have a look at it" he walked up to Elisa, who immediately backed away
"No, no I'm fine I don't need your help", Elisa spat out who was now back against a wall and having nowhere to go to.
"Yeah, sure let's see about that" He took a few steps towards her and caught her arms as she tried to fight him while keeping balance which didn't work. Falling down against the wall she sat still.
"Where is she?" Elisa said while looking at Steve while he cared for her leg. "Did the soldier get her"
"Safe and yeah" Bandaging her leg so it would be clean.
"Safe isn't a place"
Steve chuckled, "Like I'm gonna tell you, you'll break her out"
"Like I can, I can't even properly walk because of you", she responded and hissing when he gave a few pulls to the bandages, "And not in the fun way".
"Why did you steal the vibranium?" Steve asked looking at her a blush creeping up on his cheeks.
"Why would I help you, you're the enemy. Also known as Hydra's biggest target", Elisa answered, pulling her leg away from Steve.
"Because, Elisa. You are stuck in this room in this tower and with me until you tell me everything so you better", he answered walking towards the desk.
"We don't get reasons, we get assignments", Elisa responded trying to get back on the bed. "I'm most of the time not interested in reasons anyway".
"So Rose is?" Steve argued back, sitting relaxed on the desk now.
"I don't know, maybe you should ask her"
Waking up for Rose went a bit different, she woke up on the ground in a cell. Surrounded in glass. The soldier standing outside of it. Something was different, she didn't see him as the enemy anymore.
"Where am I?"
"Wakanda, you're being healed" he responded
"From what" Rose stood now, walking towards the glass
"Your time with hydra" he looked her in the eyes, only now noticing the hurt in her eyes. The hurt he caused her.
"Hydra saved me"
"Hydra beat you until you couldn't walk" he retorted. She became silent, knowing what he said was true.
"It was a mistake taking that job" Rose sighed turning away from the soldier. "I didn't ask for this"
"Not like you had a choice" He walked around the cell "Hydra had you brainwashed"
Rose turned to look at him, a new sort of hurt flashed through her eyes. "You said you'd always be there for me... so what happened? Why weren't you there?" She also knew it was not realistic for him to still be there. She knew what pain they had caused them, and that he couldn't stay. But it still hurt.
"I was tortured by Hydra too, I had a chance to get away and I did", his eyes becoming sympathetic. He had thought about her so many times after he left, what happened to her. He feared for her and made sure to track her and save her.
She walked towards the glass, "Yeah, I fucking noticed." She sat down in front of him. After he left, she was blamed. The mission he got away was a two-person mission. She was with him, and thus 'let' him get away.
"I- I know" He looked at her. He felt so guilty for leaving her. "We're going to make you better" Turning away.
"Where is Elisa?" Rose asked as he turned. She knew that Elisa would be save. They were with captain do good after all. But he didn't give her an answer and kept walking. "Where is Elisa?" Rose now spoke louder she stood up. He stood at the door with his back turned at her. His chest heavy from the confrontation. "ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" Desperation dripped from her voice. He left and shut the door. Leaving Rose to wonder where her partner in crime was.
