Josh's pov
I woke up to nothing but the uncomfortable silence of wherever I was at, in some awkward position and looking straight up. There was a faint light shining in through the opening, which I'm only now remembering I was dropped in from. In slow and painful movements I sat up, looking around. "Where am I?" I question to nobody, but silently hoping someone would answer. It was only now that I came to realize where I was. I was in the mines. It's cold and damp down here, and the darkness of this place doesn't help. Slowly, I get up from my position on the ground. Distant but definitely not far shrieking could be heard, but I'm not sure where it's coming from exactly. My whole body hurts. Where is everyone? I don't exactly remember what happened. But I remember Chris and Mike taking me to the shed and tying me up against some pole. Not long after Chris left, Mike ran off too, he looked startled when he left. They both left. It was just me. In some goddamn shed, freezing. I heard strange noises around me, but it didn't bother me, I didn't care. Then, it just went dark, it's like someone had flipped a switch and turned my consciousness off. I was probably knocked out. I don't know by what though. I began to wander off, a slight limp to my step as I ventured deeper into this hell hole. Another loud scream, it didn't sound human. "Guys?" I question stupidly, and too loud for comfort. I eventually reached another area, it was more open. That's when it happened again. Hannah and Beth, they were here again, haunting me with their cruel words and blaming me for their disappearance. Of course I blame myself too, but it's not like they were helping. I let myself fall to my knees and covered my ears with my palms, I didn't wanna hear it.
Chris' pov.
The sound of Mike running in scared the shit outta me. I looked at him and immediately got up "Mike? I thought you were at the shed with Josh?" I questioned him.
"I heard a scream, everything okay?" Mike asked as he glanced around the room at everyone.
"It's all good here, for now." I shrug and sit back down. Then there was a sudden knock on the door, everyone turned around and eyed the door suspiciously. Mike looked at me and I already guessed we had to answer it. "I got your back." I told mike and poked his shoulder. He just nodded and made his way to the door. I convinced him to give me the gun, just in case. I opened the door and some guy with a flamethrower invited himself right in, I aimed the gun to shoot him but he disarmed me with ease, and immediately ordered everyone to go and sit down. Of course we did what he said.
The stranger stopped in front of all of us, who were scattered around the couch with questioning and annoyed expressions.
"I'm here to tell you what you're up against coming back to this mountain." the stranger started. "You shouldn't have returned, I don't know why you did after what happened last year." he continued.
"You mean with Hannah and Beth?" Sam questioned.
"Yeah how could you know without being involved?" I add.
"Or responsible." Sam pointed out.
"You hold onto your horses, I don't take kindly to you kids coming back up to my mountain." the stranger snapped.
"Your mountain? I'm sure the Washingtons would be very surprised to hear that." Mike said confidently.
The stranger chuckled lightly "Well this mountain don't belong to me it's true. But it don't belong to the Washingtons." he stated matter-of-factly. "This mountain belongs to the wendigo."
"Who?" I question blankly.
"What's he talking about about?" Sam asked with a sigh.
"The hell's a wendigo?" Mike added to the jumble of questions.
