2 weeks later...
It didn't take Josh long to find a building suitable to his needs. Near the forest line there were several abandoned ones. They were older, so it made since. And it was just outside of the city, so he didn't have to hide himself as much. Rarely anyone came around these buildings anymore.
He had spent the last few weeks trying to figure out a plan. So many things were at play. He thought about Max and Elizabeth and how they must have felt. They needed their father more than anyone. Josh was determined to bring him back to them.
Josh spent many nights thinking about what those men must have done to the Doctor. he wondered if he was even alive anymore. He remembered their voices and what they said. They were after something, something Dr. Mitchell had so they must be keeping him alive somewhere. But what if he didn't give them what they wanted. What would they do to him then?
He could hear his voice so clearly in his ear, "Josh... save me..."
His eyes opened abruptly, and he shot up from where he lay. The room was empty, but he felt Dr. Mitchell's presence. He turned to the bedside table where the Doctors' broken glasses sat. sighing loudly, he threw his legs off the bed. He needed Dr. Mitchell too.
"What am I doing." He rubbed his eyes
Once his senses were back in focus he heard the steady beat of rain against the cracked glass window pain. The outside weather cast a gloomy shadow over the room. It was almost pitch black due to the fact that there was no power in the building.
Josh got up and walked towards the torn-up door, grabbing a hold of the handle and turning it. The wind from the outside blew threw his hair as he stepped onto the stairs. The speed of the rain picked up and he watched the rain droplets fall into puddles on the muddy ground. He sat down inspecting the dirty brick wall in front of him. a poster tapped to the wall caught his attention.
A missing poster for Dr. Thomas Mitchell. he sighed again. The feeling of something being out of reach was new to him but he already didn't like it. He sat there and continued to stare at the poster, looking at the Doctor's face. Josh knew he didn't deserve whatever was happening to him.
Something falls in the distance and Josh's head swiftly turns, searching for the source of the noise. A trash can lie on the ground and for a moment he logically assumed it had been knocked over by the wind. Until he saw something move behind it. There was a man kneeling beside it, dark hair covered his face. Josh noticed the bloodied bandages barely hanging onto the man's bare chest.
"Hey!" Josh called to him, rising to his feet.
He cautiously made his way over to the man but stopped when he looked up. his eyes. They were... glowing red and they stared into Josh with such animosity it made him think the man would pounce on him.
"Are y-you okay?" Josh spoke softly.
He was trying to be as careful as possible with the stranger, slightly regretting his decision to approach him.
