Love?

Chapter 2

It was lunch time when I walked out with Jae and Wyatt and as we were running out of that dreadful class, I accidentally ran into a girl and made her drop all her books. 

“Oh shit! I am so sorry. Here, let me help you!” I immediately scrambled to pick up her books while she did the same. 

“Nice going y/n!” I hear Wyatt yell from behind while speeding towards me and the girl I just crashed into.

I collected 3 of her books and as I got up to hand them over, I locked eyes with her and it felt like time just stopped. I just studied her. Her eyes were a mesmerizing ocean blue, her hair was a fire red and beautiful freckles across her soft pale skin and-

“Hey, umm...you okay?” She asked while waving a hand in front of me and I felt my cheeks burn from embarrassment and realizing I was just staring at her for a good 10 seconds. “Yeah, I-I’m s-s-sorry I-'' She cut me off and said, “Hey relax, it’s fine. I’m Sophia and you are?” “I’m y-y/n.” I stuttered. “Well nice seeing you. Try not to knock anyone's books down!” And before I could do anything else, she was off.

I just stood there like my feet were glued to the floor. “Hey tomato lady?” Jaeden spun me to him, “Are we going to lunch or do you wanna be a statue till next period?” “Oh shut it.” I yanked his arm and dragged him and Wyatt to the cafeteria.

We sat down and sort of formed a triangle outside by a tree near our track. I just watched the two boys picking at the disgusting cafeteria spaghetti with their fork, while trying to figure out what I was going to ask them before I ran into Sophia. 

“So,” I broke the silence hoping the question would pop up in my head. “So that Sophia girl huh?” I asked while poking at my jello, secretly trying to know more about her. 

Wyatt swirled his spaghetti while looking at me with a smirk. “Pretty right?” I felt my cheeks burning up again and stuttered, “Y-yeah she’s p-pretty...”

“You’re turning redder than the disgusting sauce in here.” Jaeden chuckled. “I hate you Jaeden.” I spat out while giving him a death glare.“I love you too” He said sweetly while patting my shoulder.

 “Do you like her?” Wyatt asked me but he wasn’t making the dumb smirk. He was being serious. “W-what no! I don’t like g-girls.” That damn sutter came back again. “We wouldn’t mind if you liked girls.” Wyatt looked at me and gave me a soft smile. “Yeah we promise.” and before I could come to my defence, Finn came over.

“Hey dipshits do you-” Finn stopped talking and made eye contact with me. “Y/n?” 

“Um hey?” I softly waved and gave him a slight confused smile. “Holy shit it’s you!” He pulled me up and gave me a huge hug. 

“When did you get back?” Finn had a smile of a 4 year old that just got candy. 

“I got back almost a week ago.”

“Why didn’t you text me you were coming back?”

“I was going to but-” “But her phone was destroyed.” Wyatt pulled me towards him. Wyatt was always kind of my overprotective brother. Him and Jack both were my 'older protective brothers' ever since we were little kids. But I trusted Jack more because sometimes Wyatt would tell Jaeden the secrets I told him because Wyatt and Jaeden were closer than we were. Jack never told my secrets plus, Jack and I have had more sleep overs than Wyatt did. Then I remembered what I wanted to ask. Why did they split? I got cut off from my thoughts again, this time Jaeden.

“What do you want Finn?” Jaeden said bitterly.

“Just wanted to see if you guys had my old english paper from last month? The one I told you to save before we-” His eyes met with mine but soon retracted to Jaeden and Wyatts. “Uh nevermind” I was confused but then again, I didn’t know anything that happened last year because I moved. “We threw it away dumbass” Jaeden replied clearly annoyed. 

“Don’t you have some fight to be in?” Wyatt scoffed while rolling his eyes. 

“No but you might be first today!” I saw Finns fist clench as him, Wyatt and Jaeden were walking to each other. They were clearly going to cause war so I had to get in the middle.

“Hey! Both of you stop it right now!” I shouted and accidentally caught some attention. “You are not going to fight! I’m not allowing it, not while I’m here!” Finn and Wyatt looked at each other, then me and nodded. Finn winked at me and left, leaving Wyatt and Jaeden scoffing. 

“What the hell was that about?” I whisper yelled. “You know what nevermind that, earlier in class, why weren't all of you guys together? Why were you guys split up?” Wyatt and Jaeden looked and teacher then at the grass.

“Um, how about we just don’t-” Wyatt was cut off

“We’ll go over it tomorrow. How about at my place? After school? Good!”

Wyatt gave Jaeden a ‘What The Hell’ look but I agreed and left for my next class.

I opened the classroom door and saw that I had this class without Wyatt or Jaeden. I took a seat and daydreamed. 

“Hey, y/n.” I turned around to see Sophia smiling at me.
