Oh god!  How could I have forgotten my potions book again?!  This was the third time this week and Snape was definitely going to give me detention this time.  And I could NOT get detention.  My parents were going to kill me!  My parents believed that us Pure-bloods were superior and that we had to show it to all the small-fry here at Hogwarts.  That meant getting straight-A's and NEVER getting detention.  I might be one of the few lucky students that was actually on Snape's good-side, but this was taking it too far.  Oh no, no, no, no!

"What's wrong?"  I turn around and see my best friend standing there with a worried look on her face. 

I sigh.  "I forgot my book..."

"Again?!" she yells.

I see a few heads turn our way, and I shoot them that death-glare I am so well known for.  They immediately turn their eyes away.  Ha!  I look at my friend who has started blushing furiously.

"Sorry," she whispers "But really?  How is it possible to get such good grades and still be such an airhead?"

I glare at her,  throw my hair over my shoulder as I turn around and bump right into something hard. 

"Hey!  Watch it!" We scream at the same time.  I look up furiously from the floor where I have landed ungracefully and am frozen stiff when I am rewarded by deep grey eyes staring back at me.  I immediately see recognition flood into them and I quickly scramble up to meet them straight-on. 

"Draco." I say.

"Y.. y.. you"  He stammers.

I see everyone shoot him strange looks.  Draco Malfoy never stammers. 

He clears his throat, "How have you been doing?" he asks.

"I'm ok," I answer, equally flustered. 

That earns us more strange looks. 

Suddenly a voice comes from behind me.  "Sure, she's ok, but she forgot her books again.  Can you believe this air-head?  Really, I'm surprised she hasn't forgotten to put on clothes today.  That has happened before you know, it took her a while before she realized she was still wearing her pink bunny pyjamas."

Draco chokes, and I swirl around to glare at my 'friend.'  How dare she?  She had promised never to speak of that again!  Especially in front of Draco!  She knew that I had been in love with him since we met at the age of five.  And every summer since then, we had been 'forced' to stay at each other's house for a month.  Our parents always leave on vacation together and we always stayed behind with a wizard-sitter, but now that we were both 18, they had decided to leave us alone, and let me say, it was rather awkward.  Sure we get along.  Really well actually, but still.  Especially since he invited all his friends for an evening and spent the whole time talking to this really pretty girl.  Astoria Greengrass I think her name was.  Needless to say, I didn't stay long.

I hear Draco laughing behind me and turn around to look at him.  When he sees me he immediately stops laughing and looks completely lost.  That's when I notice that tears have started flowing down my cheeks.  I wipe them away and then suddenly it is too much.  The embarrassment of crying, forgetting my books, being ridiculed infront of Draco, ... .  I turn around and run for the door. 

"Wait!  Hey, wait for me!"  I hear coming from behind me, but I keep on running. 

 I run through the abandoned halls, and head for the Slytherin common room.  I know that no one will bother me there,  I am just about to reach it when I am pushed against the wall.

"I... said .... to... wait."  Says Draco panting. 

I see the sweat gleam on his face as he pushes me against the wall.  We are so close.

"Merlin you run fast!" 

He looks at me and releases me with one hand.  He brings it to my face and wipes away a tear that I had long forgotten was there.  His hand stays on my face, and I can see him struggling.  With what, I do not know.  Suddenly I see him lean forward and the next thing I know, I feel something warm pushing against my lips.  What?  Then it hits me like a bus.  Draco is kissing me.  ME!  The world around us melts away as I close my eyes and lean into the kiss.  Our lips move against each other and I feel his warmth flooding into me and warming my core.  I never imagined anything could feel so good.  His arms start to tighten around me, but he still holds me as if I could break at any second. Suddenly I feel his tongue flick across my lower lip, and my lips part seemingly without my consent.  After a few minutes we part and pant for breath. 

"What about Astoria?"  I ask.

"What about her?"  He replies, a confused look on his face.

"Don't you like her?"

"Of course not!"  He seems repulsed at the idea.

"Well what about this summer?  You didn't leave her side."

"Oh that..." He starts blushing. 

 Dear Merlin, he looks hot when he blushes.  I bite my lip.

"I was only asking her for advice."

"Advice?  About what?"

"About you."

"About me?  Couldn't you just come to me and ask?"

"Well no...  I was asking her how I should tell you..."

"Tell me what?"

"That I love you."  He whispers.

I feel my heart melt, and I start kissing him again.  I feel my arms wrap around him and my fingers bury themselves in his soft blond hair. 

"I love you too." I whisper against his mouth.

He suddenly grabs me and twirls me around as he deepens our kiss.  We hear someone clear their throat and we jump apart, both straightening our clothes and blushing furiously.  We look up to see Snape looking at us with a smug look on his face.

"Fin....ally."
