My Other Half

Jealousy Arrives

     This takes place in 'Into the Woods' MCD Season Two, Episode 45. Just in case you were wondering. If I'm writing a lot of MCD I'm sorry. I just re-watched some of it. I just felt inspired... Anyways, enjoy!

     Aphmau's POV

     I sighed and started walking into the cursed forest. Where is he..? I'm worried. I looked and saw him.

     "Aaron, you're ok! I'm so glad," I ran up to him.

     "Hey, thanks," He smiled.

     "Did you hear what happened?" I asked. 

     "Yeah, I caught wind of people's conversations as they used Falconclaw to get out of O'Khasis. They've been invaded?" He raised an eyebrow.

     "Yeah, so I guess I don't have to bring you up to speed. We need to get through this forest," I said. He nodded. 

     "Has someone told you why that might not happen?" He asked.

     "Yeah, look, I just wanna say that I'm really glad you're ok. I was kinda nervous, I'm not gonna lie," I smirked.

     "Well, I'm fine. Don't worry." He said, "I know how to get to a small clearing. That's as far as I can get us." 

     "That's a good start," I smiled, "Come on, guys! This way!" I yelled. We began walking. I stood behind Aaron. 

     "Aphmau, can we talk?" Laurence said, coming up next to me.

     "Sure, what's up?" I asked.

     "Can we fall back a bit?" He asked. I nodded. We moved to the back of our group and continued walking. "What was that about back there?" 

     "Huh, what?" I asked.

     "The whole you basically embracing Aaron?" He raised an eyebrow.

     "I don't know what you mean? I was happy to see he was ok," I said.

     "I don't like you getting close to him," He shook his head.

     "Wait... Are you jealous?" I asked turning to him. 

     "I won't lie. Yes. It makes no sense," He sighed.

     "First off, Laurence, I don't see why it's any of your business. I understand you're my guard. However, you allowed me to join thieves guild and not be upset. Yet one small sign of friendly affection towards Aaron and suddenly you're questioning my motives?" I crossed my arms.

     "I just think you should be careful around him," He said.

     "You don't have any idea of what he's been through. So I'd appreciate it if you kept your jealousy to yourself on this one. Why are you acting like this all the sudden?" 

     "It's just this situation is stressful. The fact that you basically embraced Aaron, and earlier you were so obsessed with finding Vylad. I don't see why you need to care about any of them," Laurence said. I stood in silence for a second. Did he really just say that..? 

     "Let's discuss this later..." I sighed and walked back up towards Aaron. We got to the clearing and began making plans. I sat down by myself to think. Aaron sat down next to me saying nothing.

     "Hey," I sighed.

     "Hey... About what you saw earlier..." He looked over to me.

     "I'll keep that between us," I said.

     "Thanks," He said quietly. I sighed and looked out at nothing.

     "What are we gonna do?" I asked.

     "I wish I knew. We'll figure it out. I believe in you and I know everyone else believes in you too," He turned to me. I smiled at him.

     "T-Thanks," I said smiling. I looked back off at nothing. 

     "Guys, I think we're onto something!" Katelyn yelled over to the two of us. We both got up and walked over to the others. We made a plan. It wouldn't kill us to try something. We slowly figured out a pattern. After hours of running what felt like in circles we somehow made it out. Irene really was on our side. 

     "I didn't know we even could get out of this place?" I asked.

     "I didn't either," Vylad said. 

     "Let's not think about it too much. We need to get back to Phoenix Drop," I sighed. We began going towards the direction of Phoenix Drop. I was walking in front and Aaron walked up next to me.

     "Are you ok?" He asked.

     "Yes, I just have a bit on my mind," I said. 

     "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked looking over to me. 

     "No..." I looked down to the ground. I could feel his gaze on me even if I couldn't see his eyes.

     "Ok," He said. We continued walking in silence. What if Phoenix Drop is invaded next? Should I worry about Laurence's jealousy?
