"Who are you?"
The man standing before me didn't reply, just studied me. I felt small under his calculating gaze. It truly felt like I was face to face with a dragon from how unique the shape of his eyes were. We locked eyes for a brief time and he quickly averted his gaze to the dead man on the floor. I watched as he reached down and picked up the key to the cell, but I felt sick as a dark, red liquid dripped from it, causing me to avert my eyes. When I heard the familiar click of the lock on the cell, I turned to see it opening, and the mysterious man stepped forward, extending his clean hand to me.
I glanced at it before carefully taking it. His hand was enormous compared to mine, and I shuddered to wonder just how strong he really was. Before I could ask another question, a final gunshot could be heard from the top deck, signalling the end of the fight. Then, footsteps were heard coming, and I turned my head just in time to see two other men enter the brig.
One had inky, black hair that curled and shaped his angular face, his eyes almond shaped with one having a monolid and the other a doublelid. The other's hair was a soft looking, dark brown that held a pillowy, fluff to it. One particularly noticeable trait of the second man were his eyes which widened like a frightened deer, but he looked completely relaxed, excited even. I blushed when we made eye contact, so I averted my eyes back to the ever-silent man who still held my hand.
"Captain, all the men are dead; we won!" The supposed captain cleared his throat and snatched his hand from mine. "Thanks Jungkook, we got her, now let's board up and go." And with that, the lumbering man skulked away without even sparing me a second glance. I felt somewhat embarrassed, but I brushed it off and looked at the two other men. "Uhhh, nice to meet you guys? Sorry, my name is Rosabella." The two blinked before the black-haired one spoke. "I'm Taehyung." I smiled and looked at the younger one, and I chuckled a bit as I saw his cheeks were flushed pink. "I-I'm Jungkook.. p-pleasure to meet you.." Jungkook mumbled the last part, but I heard him. I shuffled my feet uncomfortably before pointing in the direction of the exit. "I believe the top deck is that way." Both men looked utterly embarrassed before turning and leaving, me trailing behind them.
Upon reaching the top deck, the metallic scent of blood filled my nostrils, and I had to swallow back the bile that rose to my throat. Scattered upon the ship were all the pirates that previously held me captive, all of which were cut up pretty badly. Some were utterly skewered, and I gagged at the site of bones.
I also took notice that aboard the deck were two other men; both seemed to be hastily looting the fresh corpses. My lip curled in repulsion before making my way to a short, wooden plank that connected the ship I was captive on, and a new vessel; a ship made of brilliant, cherry wood. The flags were a faded blue, but some symbol was on the front of them, though I couldn't tell what it was. The ship looked oddly new, but I could tell that it had its fair share of voyages.
Upon reaching the plank, I looked up and locked eyes with another man who stood on the other ship. His eyes were narrowed, giving off an animalistic glow from two slits. His lips were very plump and had a roundness to them, sitting at the bottom of his very sculpted jawline. He was utterly gorgeous to me, but he stared down at me with such arrogance, I could feel it almost knocking me back. The hair along the back of my neck stood up as the new person stepped on the plank and walked closer until he could reach out a hand to me. "C'mon then," he commanded cooly.
I delicately placed my hand in his and allowed him to assist me onto the new ship. My cheeks heated up as the whole time, his eyes never left me. He studied me with such scrutiny that I was certain by now he already knew too much about me. The new man didn't let go of my hand right away, just held me there in place to continue to study me. "So, you're the famous witch I've heard so much about? You don't look like much to me, though your hair is kinda interesting. Never seen a green that dark colored on someone's hair before." His melodic voice didn't hide the massive ego behind it, and I scoffed as I tried my best not to show how much this newcomer got to me. "I'm not a witch, my name is Rosabella, and don't ask me about my hair; it's been this green for as long as I can remember."
