After everything was cleaned up and had calmed down, Mirajane brought Lucy towards, the bar, where she pulled out the magic stamp that was used on each member, and pressed it to Lucy's hand, creating a small pink version of the guild's emblem.
"There. Now you're an official member of the Fairy Tail Guild." Lucy gasped happily, running over to Natsu.
"Hey, Natsu, look! Mirajane just put the official Fairy Tail mark on my hand!"
"Oh, yeah?" Natsu was already distracted with his next objective at this point, and couldn't have cared less. "That's cool. Welcome to the Guild, Loony."
"The name's Lucy!" She shouted furiously, practically frothing at the mouth, when suddenly, Kasumi grabbed her and squealed when she saw the mark.
"I'm so happy for you Lucy!" She said happily. "Not only did you get into the Guild you wanted, now we're in the same Guild!" Lucy nodded eagerly, back to being excited. She was glad someone was excited for her!
"I know! Its amazing!"
"Make sure you pick one with a big reward, Natsu." Happy was saying, as the two boys looked at the Request Board, where there were jobs and rewards posted for the wizards to take on and make money off of.
"Whoa, 160,000 jewel to get rid of some thieves?" Natsu suddenly grabbed at one of the papers, reading it intensely, catching Kasumi's attention as she looked over his shoulder eagerly.
"Whoa! That's so much! We'd be able to eat for months!"
"Sounds good to me." Happy told them.
"How come my dad hasn't come back, yet?" Came a new voice. This voice belonged to Romeo, a little dark haired boy, who was the son of one the other Guild members, Macao. He was speaking to the Master, who sat on the bar drinking heavily.
"You're starting to work my nerves, Romeo. You're a wizard's son. Have faith in your father and wait patiently for him." But Romeo wasn't letting this go.
"But sir, he told me that he'd back in three days. And he's been gone for over a week now!" The Master had to think for a moment on where he may be.
"If I remember correctly, he took the job on Mount Hakobe." Romeo nodded, his little fists clenched as he nearly shouted in his small, squeaking voice.
"That's right, and it's not that far from here. So why won't somebody go look for him?" Now the Master was getting really angry.
"Listen, kid, your old man's a wizard. And like every other wizard in this guild, he can take care of himself." Lucy happened to look, and saw that the scene had caught the attention of Natsu and Kasumi. Natsu had a look, almost like he was thinking hard, and Kasumi looked concerned as she held onto his arm. "Now go home, have some milk and cookies, and wait!" The Master wasn't the only one who had had enough though.
"Jerk!" Romeo shouted, punching the Master hard in the nose! He hit him so hard, he sent him flying behind the bar and left a red mark on his face as Romeo ran out of the Hall. "I hate you all!" Lucy couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
"That's gotta be tough."
"I know it sounds like the Master doesn't care, but he really is worried-" Mirajane was interrupted by Natsu slamming the 160,000 jewel job back onto the board, leaving a deep dent in the board as he headed towards the door, Kasumi at one side and Happy flying at the other.
"What do you think you're doing? You almost broke the board, Natsu!" Nab tried to get his attention, but Natsu was already walking away. "Kasumi! Come on, you're not really going to let him get away with that!" But she didn't answer either, and Master Makarov let out a sigh, Nab walking over to them as they watched the twins and Happy walk away. "This doesn't look good, Master. You know how Natsu can be. I bet they're going up to Mount Hakobe to save Macao."
"When is that kid ever gonna grow up?" Another guy asked, taking a long sip from his mug. "He's just dragging Kasumi down with him with the trouble he gets into."
"Who knows?" Nab scratched the back of his head. "Going after Macao isn't gonna do anything except hurt their pride." But Master Makarov knew better.
"Remember, Nab, we can't choose another's path. Just leave them be."
"Why did Natsu get so upset?" Lucy asked, confused and a little upset herself.
"Probably because he, Kasumi, and Romeo have a lot in common." Mirajane tried to explain again. "I think Natsu sees himself in Romeo. Kasumi can see it too. Just because we're members of Fairy Tail, doesn't mean we don't have our own personal issues. We've all had our fair share of suffering and loss." Lucy leaned in, wanting to know more. "Many years ago, Natsu and Kasumi's mother and father left and never came back." Lucy gasped. "Well, technically, they weren't their real parents, but the ones who raised them. They were actually dragons." Lucy gasped, the vision of two terrifying dragons breathing fire filling her head.
"Huh? They were what?" She stood up, leaning in closer. "Natsu and Kasumi were really raised by dragons?" Mirajane nodded at that, thinking back to the story she had heard second hand.
"When they were little, two dragons found them wandering a forest, and along a beach. They must have been separated when they were infants, because neither of them knew about the other at the time. Both dragons took them in and raised them separate from each other, and taught them all about language, culture and magic. But one day, the dragons disappeared and never returned."
"So those dragons must have been Igneel and Ryuu." Lucy concluded, remembering the names that Happy had told her before when he told her that the two of them were Dragon Slayers.
"That's right." Mirajane told her. "The two of them went to find their dragons, and found each other instead. As kids, they both looked a lot alike, and already knew that they had the same last name, even though they hadn't been raised together at that point. They also both have a birthmark on their hips that look exactly the same. We still can't decide whether it looks more like flame or a drop of water, but it looks exactly the same on both of them."
"And that's how they knew they were siblings?" Lucy couldn't imagine finding someone like that. A brother or sister who she had never met before who looked just like her and had a birthmark in the same place in the same shape? That was something straight out of a storybook!
"Ever since then, the two of them have lived for the day when they can finally see their dragons again. She takes care of him and makes sure he has everything he needs to get him through each day, and he protects her and makes sure that nobody hurts her in any way." Lucy looked back towards the door, thinking about what Mirajane said about the two of them.
