After a while of hanging out, Matt and Tom finally went home, leaving Edd alone, waiting for his mom to get home from work. He laid in his bed, staring at the ceiling, sighing. He reached up to it in desperation, as if hoping for something or someone to save him from his misery. Soon enough it was 9:00 pm on the dot and his mom would be home in minutes. But then he heard something clacking against his window. There were no trees out there, so what was it?
He got up and looked out, spotting his good friend Tord. He seemed surprised and opened the window.
"What the fuck are you up to?" He asked, sounding already exasperated with Tord. The Norwegian laughed and shrugged.
"Just hurry up and get out here!" He chirped, giving Edd a toothy grin. "I've only got so long until my parents might check on me!"
Edd sighed, closing his window back and going downstairs. As he opened the front door, Tord was already there, waiting for him. Edd rolled his eyes.
"Now where do you plan to take me?" He asked.
"It's a surprise," Tord taunted.
"Your surprises always suck."
"Yet, you always love them."
"Sure."
Edd did have to admit, Tord was a man knowledgeable in how to make a limited time worth it. He didn't really react when Tord grabbed his arm and dragged him out of his house until he had to close the door and start running after Tord. He sighed, laughing softly.
The sun was nearly set and the stars above glittered like eyes watching. Tord was headed to the park nearby, Edd could tell. But what were they going to do?
He lead Edd to the playground portion of the park where Matt and Tom were waiting. Edd seemed a bit surprised.
"I figured since I wasn't able to make it earlier I'd make it up to you all," Tord explained. He beamed like an idiot.
"Thanks," Edd said, smiling slightly. He took a seat on a swing, Tord sitting next to him.
"It was my pleasure."
"Tch- Formal much?"
"Always."
And with that Edd jokingly punched Tord in the arm.
