friday 4th february

Finally the weekend was here and I could spend it with my grandparents along the sea front Brighton rather than in town, whilst my parents went away on a business trip. I live in Brighton too but they live along the sea front and I live in the 'suburbs' so not near the beach. It's kind of annoying that my parents planned a business trip at the start October half term but its pretty normal of them, I'm use to it and I love spending time at my grandparents house.

As soon as the final school bell went I left that place as fast as I could and headed home to pack my bags. It didn't take me too long as I'd already got most of the stuff that I'd need out on my bed or on my floor somewhere. Carefully I sorted everything out and placed it all neatly into my bag, making sure there would be space for my make up bag, toiletries, straighteners, chargers and finally some spare shoes. Once my bag was packed I took it downstairs and left it in the living room or when my mum came home from work. I headed back upstairs after that to sort out my hand bag, I looked around my room for my book Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon along with a couple of dvd's - 10 things I hate about you, the duff, john tucker must die, mean girls 1&2 and she's the man. I placed them all into my handbag and found my headphones, purse and spare phone charger, placing them in my bag too then heading downstairs to watch some tv and to wait for my mum. Where I sat down on the sofa and watched  2 episodes of New Girl on catch up but just as the third episode started the front door opened and in came my mum.

"Hello darling, are you ready?" She asked looking over at me. I nodded, turned the tv off , picked up both my bags and took them out to the car. I placed them both in the boot of the car and climbed into the passenger seat in the front of the car.

Mum was going away on a business trip this weekend and rather than me saying at home alone I prefer to go and stay with my Grandma and Grandad who live around 15/20 minutes away from us in Brighton.

"I hope you have a nice weekend." Mum said as we pulled onto my grandparents drive.

"I will, enjoy your business trip." I joked climbing out the car. I pulled the boot open, grabbed both my bags and headed to the front door.

"Bye hun!" My mum shouted from the car just as I heard the front door open, I waved good bye and turned around to be greeted by my grandad.

"Hello Bella darling, how are you?" She asked leading me into the spare room which kind of is now mine as i'm the grandchild they have.

"I'm good thank you," I smile before placing my bag onto my bed.

"I'll leave you alone to get settled in," She said as she left the room. "Oh and Bella, we have some new neighbours and I said you'd look after the dog whilst they were away." She said pocking her head back around the door. I nodded and began to unpack my belongings into the wardrobe and onto the dressing table. Just as I was unpacking my straighteners I heard my phone ring, I rummaged around my handbag trying to find it. Eventually I did, it was hidden under my book. I pulled it out and checked to see who the message was from, Gracie.

hey and yeah sounds great. I'm at my grandparents this weekend and I have to look after next doors dog so I'll bring him/her down with me if that's ok? I'll come to yours in about an hour? xxx

I smiled and plugged my phone into charge. I decided I needed a shower as I didn't have one when I came home from school and I usually do on a Friday just to feel clean, I don't know why. So I grabbed my towel and toiletry bag and headed to the bathroom.

"I'm going to meet Gracie in an hour down on the beach with next doors dog so I'm going for a shower." I shouted down the stairs then going into the bathroom closing the door behind me not waiting for them to respond.

Quickly, I had a shower and got changed into some warmer clothes as I knew it would be cold walking along the beach. I put my black jeans on, with my long sleeved black and white stripy top and finally my dark blue hoodie. Once I found my black docs and out them on, I was ready. I grabbed my phone and coat and headed downstairs to say goodbye to my grandparents.

"Bye Bella, Nat said she left the instruction for Jesse in the kitchen and Jesse should be in the house somewhere." She said handing me the keys to their house. I smiled, put my coat on and headed next door. I unlocked the front door and walked straight into the kitchen, no sign of Jesse yet. I read the instructions they had left;

• Feed her at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just one scoop full of the food, the scoop should be next to the food or even in the bag.
• Walk her as much as your like but make sure you don't ware her out to much.
• Her lead and poo bags are hug up by the back door so just help your self to them.
• Finally remember to let her out for about 5/10 minutes after you feed him so during that time make your self at home and watch some tv if u want.

I went to the back door and found Jesse's lead and poo bags, I picked them up and shouted her.

"Jesse, walkies!" I shouted as I sat down in the living room. Suddenly she came running in, I calmed her down and got her to sit in front of me. I put her lead on and just as I did that I noticed a picture of the family on the mantle piece. I walked over and had a look at them, mum, dad, nat and curly haired boy who looked about my age. He was very good looking in the picture and I'm just hoping he looks as good in real life.

"Come on then jesse, walkies." I said leading her out the house.
