Telling Severus

Jay and Draco were spending the afternoon as they had spent many together now. They were laying close to the lake, Jay with her head on Draco's chest and with Draco absently playing with her hair.

It was moments like these that the two were fully at ease. They were hardly the only couple laying in the grass, doing nothing except relaxing and relishing in each other's company.

It was an odd sensation, Jay figured.

The way there were just no thoughts racing through her mind, the way she could only focus on Draco's hand running through her hair, the soft thumping of his chest and the delightfully slow breeze which was blowing over the field.

It wouldn't be long until the last task anymore. And tonight she was planning on bringing Severus to the RoR to reveal the plan. She was not looking forward to either of those things.

"Hey." Draco mumbled softly.

"Hmm?"

"What's wrong? Something on your mind?" He asked.

"Mmm." There went the moment, she thought rather grumpy. "Just thinking about the last task."

Draco scoffs. "Yeah, I guess that is a reason to frown. Have you got a clue on what it would be?"

"No, and that's why I'm worried. What if I don't have enough time to figure something out?" Jay mumbled.

In response Draco shifted so that they were face to face. He gently brushed some locks which had fallen in front of her eyes out of the way.

"Don't worry so much, you'll do fine. You've done amazing in every single task so far." He smiles. "You went up against the most aggressive dragon," He gives her a kiss on her nose, which makes her ears turn slightly red, "You figured the egg clue out well before the next task," He gives her a kiss on the forehead, "You almost killed your brother during the second task," He says teasingly.

"That-" She laughs, "I don't think that's the purpose of the games, to kill your competitors."

"Depends on who you ask." He deadpans.

They both laugh, but it doesn't last.

"Seriously though, you'll do fine darling."

"Darling?" She asks delighted.

Now it's Draco's turn to go red. "I mean-" He stutters.

"It's fine." She assures him. "It's cute." She says and gives him a kiss.

"Hmm."

Eventually it's time to go back inside and eat. Jay wishes she could sit at the Slytherin table, but that was just not done. Instead she sat on her own at the table and started eating without looking at anyone, much less talk to someone.

She is so deep in her own head that when a paper plane lands next to her plate, she almost startles because of it.

Once she picks it up, it turns into a rose. A smile breaks out over her face and when she looks up, she looks into Draco's eyes and suddenly doesn't feel as alone anymore.

With a smile and a faint blush she puts the rose in a glass of water, but before she can an older year boy takes it from her.

"Oh got yourself a boyfriend?" Some older year boy asks. Some of the other boys sitting next to him begin to laugh. "Who would ever want to date the likes of you?" He asks.

"That isn't yours. Give it back." She says, barely containing her anger.

"Make me." The boy smirks, giving Jay a full view of his nasty teeth. It takes a lot of willpower to not hex the boy.
