She was lazily gazing at the people passing around her as she slowly ate the small pieces of grilled meat lying on the table in front of her. Her eyes passed over the people around her but she wasn't really looking at anyone, she was lost in her thoughts. She was pulled out of her thoughts when a man wearing a mask, a cap and shades bumped into her leg and spilled his drink all over her shirt. She frowned and raised her eyebrow at him.
"I-I'm so so sorry. Let me buy you a new shirt or something?", he stumbled over his words while apologizing.
What a fucking pain. Just go away, you are too loud, the girl thought as she plastered a smile on her face and said, "it's quiet alright. Theres no need for that." She was hoping he'd leave after that.
"No no, it's my fault. I have to make it up to you", the man said as he grabbed onto the girl's arm.
What the fuck? Personal space? Stupid, fucking.... She cursed him in her mind as she violently shook off his hand and then smiled at him while saying, "I said its fucking okay." With that she grabbed her purse and left the table. People were starting to stare at her table and she hated that.
So much for a peaceful lunch, she thought as she went to a nearby shop in the mall and picked out a plain black shirt with a picture of an animated white cat on it. She paid for it and headed off to the girl's washroom to change. Her wet light purple and white shirt was clinging to her body, making her bra visible. She took off her old shirt.
What the heck did he even spill on me? It's so sticky. Gross. Ugh, guess I have no choice but to put up with it for now.
She put on her new black t-shirt and shoved the old one in the plastic bag she just got with the new shirt. She pushed open the washroom door and then left the mall. She opened her purse to make a call to a friend she had promised to meet later that day to cancel. Her hand lazily searched around in her purse, but she couldn't find her phone. She stopped in her tracks pulled her purse nearer to her face and searched around in it. No phone.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Did I leave it at the mall!? Okay calm down, Mailyn. When did you last use it? I took a picture of my food back in the mall. So maybe I left it at the table or dropped it on the way or it could be in the washroom?
She started retracing her steps back to the mall all the while looking at the ground, for any signs of her beloved. She looked everywhere but she couldn't find it.
Someone must have picked it up then...well they will either call one of my contacts to return it, or they won't. Oh God how could I lose my phone like this!?
She let out an exasperated sigh as she left the mall again. The sun had already set outside. Dejected, she headed towards home. Ah man, I'll have to apologise to Troy later. I stood him up again. He won't let me hear the end of this. Maybe he'd have mercy after hearing about what happened to my phone. What a crappy day.
She held out her hand to stop a cab and after about a minute a taxi stopped near her. She let herself sink into the back seat. She gave directions to the driver to turn this way and that and finally told him to stop near a convenience store. She paid her fare and got out of the cab.
Pudding. Pudding. I'm gonna get me some pudding tonight, a blissful expression spread on her face as she imagined the taste of pudding on her tongue. She headed to the freezers and picked the largest container of pudding they had over there. Heading to the counter she picked a pack of cigarettes. She then handed over the money to the cashier, and then she finally saw the cashier's face.
"oh I haven't seen you around before", she said while thinking, damn, he's pretty. Must be a part timer though. Looks kinda young. So pretty though! Kinda on the cute side hehe.
