Part 5: Nick

I took Olivia and led her outside. I sat down on the chair on the back patio and motioned for her to sit next to me. I had to tell her about what happened with Miley. Olivia already had tears rolling down her cheeks. God, I hate seeing her like this.

"Something happened, didn't it?" She whispered to me. She focused her eyes on mine.

I took a deep breath. "Liv—"

"God, Nick! Just tell me what the fuck happened already!" I jumped a little in shock of her sudden anger.

"Um, well, yeah... something happened." I reached for her hands, but she pulled them away from me. I clasped mine together and looked down at the ground. "Miley and me, we, uh, we kissed at the bar last weekend. We were drinking and things just got out of hand, I promise it didn't mean anything..."

"God, Nick, it didn't mean anything? I see the way you still look at her. I saw the old pictures of you with her in Demi and Joe's house, you never once looked that in love with me. I should've fucking known this would happen!"

"Baby, please—"

"Don't fucking call me that!" She shot up in anger and started pacing around the backyard. "I came to Miley because I needed a friend and she's the whole reason I'm losing you!" Before I could stop her, Olivia had run back inside the house. I quickly followed after her. I could hear Olivia yelling before I even got inside.

I opened the door to see Joe standing in front of a teary-eyed Miley, blocking her from an angry Olivia. Olivia was trying to get passed Joe to get to Miley. Demi was standing behind Olivia, holding her arm and trying to deescalate the situation.

"You fucking slut!" Olivia screamed at Miley. "I thought we were friends!"

"Uh, Nick! A little help, please!" Demi yelled towards me.

I dashed over toward Olivia and stepped in front of her. "Liv, please, leave her out of it. Be mad at me."

"Oh, don't worry, I am mad at you!"

"Come on, let's go talk about this outside—" I was interrupted by a harsh slap across the face. I heard Demi gasp from behind me.

"I am done talking about this with you. You can have your little slut because we are over." Olivia turned away from me and looked at Miley one more time. "Fuck you," she hissed at Miley. She grabbed her purse and walked out the door.

As soon as the door shut, I could hear Miley let out the sob she had been holding in. "Oh, Miley!" Demi ran over to her and pulled her into a hug, attempting to comfort her.

Joe walked over towards me. "So, I'm assuming she didn't take that too well." I shot him a glare.

"Miley, honey, it's okay. It's not your fault—" Demi kept trying to comfort her, but I couldn't hold my anger in any longer.

"Stop, Demi! It is her fault! She's the one who suggested we dance together and she's the one who took it too far in the back hallway; she knew exactly what she was doing." I directed my voice towards Miley, "God, you always have to ruin shit for me. You are a fucking slut!"

"Nick, what the fuck is your problem?" Joe yelled at me.

I shot another glare over at him and then slipped passed everyone and went upstairs to my room. I couldn't look at her any longer. I knew I was overreacting, but I just couldn't control myself. I was finally happy without Miley – I had finally met someone that I actually liked, and she had to ruin it for me.
