All my love, Iris

I've been on the run for two years now. Every time I find a place to settle into, he finds me. My only family is my best friend June and my grandma. I love them too much to put them in danger. He's the definition of crazy and he's obsessed with me. I can't go to the police and I can't ask for help. So I hide and I run. But I'm tired of running. I want to live my life. So I'm taking a risk and I'm staying in this little town. I just hope he doesn't find me this time.

It's a cool Tuesday morning, the sun is shining and I'm excited to get to work. I walk through the back door and the sweet smell of brown sugar and cinnamon hit me.
"Good morning Terry! Those cinnamon rolls smell amazing."

My boss smiles over her shoulder, "Morning Charlotte! I was up early so I decided to come in and make these for the cafe today. Would you mind putting a batch out front?"

"Sure thing. Any news on the festival?" The town's annual summer festival was being planned and as the only bakery in town, we would have a ton of work to do. Terry was thrilled to have my help this year. Her round freckled face lit up as she handed me a tray of cinnamon rolls.

"Oh yeah, I've got it all planned out. I'll show you what we'll be working on later."
I smiled at her and rounded the corner to the cafe area.

After displaying all the baked goods in an orderly manner, I hear the front door ding. My breath catches in my throat as two of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen walk up to the counter.

*Gavin*

As alphas of the Knight pack, my brother Grant and I are used to getting our way. Our family started this pack hundreds of years ago. Twin alphas always rule the area. And they always share their mate. But we've been looking for years and we still haven't found her. My wolf is restless and I'm tired of searching.

Grant and I keep ourselves busy running our little hardware store and taking care of the pack. Business is great, not that we need the money from it. The family money is more than enough to give us a very comfortable life. But running the shop keeps our minds off the ever present pressure to find our mate.

*
"Can't believe I let you talk me into sweets for breakfast." I joke to Grant as we pull up to Terry's bakery and cafe.

He rolls his eyes and as he looks out the window. "Shut up. One cinnamon roll isn't going to ruin your girlish figure."

"I work hard to maintain this, so called, girlish figure. Thank you, very much. The ladies love it."
"Please don't start with your Instagram shit again."
"Jealous brother?" I grin.

He glares at me before getting out of the truck. "No."

I follow after him and we walk through the front door of the cafe. Grant stops dead in his tracks and I almost ask him what's wrong before my wolf jumps into high alert and howls loudly in my head.

There she is. Standing behind the counter looking at us like we're the craziest thing she's ever seen. She's so beautiful my chest starts to ache. She's short, curvy, with waist long chocolate brown curls, a heart shaped face and rich dark brown eyes.

'Grant!' I reach out to him over our link.
'I know. I feel it too.' He glances at me and nods in her direction.

I smile at her, "good morning."
"Uh... oh um, good morning." She's nervous.
Her scent is mixed with several feelings; curiosity, attraction and fear. I frown for a moment and Grant interrupts my thoughts as he orders our breakfast and two large coffees.

"Are you new around here?" I ask and she smiles shyly at me.
"Yeah, I just moved here a few weeks ago."
"What's your name?" Grant asks.
"Charlotte. And you are?"
"Grant. This is my brother Gavin."

I smile at her and her cheeks flush a beautiful pink.

*Grant*

Sometimes I wish we weren't alphas. The pressure to find our mate is greater than anything else. But we were born to lead and care for our pack so it's our responsibility to do everything we can for them. Years of searching for her has made my wolf a grumpy and agitated creature. I guess some would say it's made me that way as well. All I know, is we're ready for her.

*

I had no idea it would happen so fast. How long have we searched? How far have we traveled? And now, here she is, standing in front of us. When I walked through the door my wolf howled so loudly that my ears started to ring.

Charlotte's blush turned to a deeper shade of pink as her eyes dart back and forth between Gavin and I.
"Are you guys-"
I cut her off, "twins? Yeah."

"Grant is the oldest but I'm the better looking one." Gavin teases. I roll my eyes then smile as she laughs at his comment. How did we miss her before now?

"Have you seen much of the town yet?"

She blinks at me then turns to make our coffees.

'Nice ass.' Gavin thinks, not realizing he's still connected to our mind link. I smack the back of his head.
'Behave.' I tell him and he glares at me in response.

"Not really." She responds, "Terry has been keeping me pretty busy."

Our orders are placed on the counter and I reach to take them, brushing her fingers in the process. She gasps and jerks her hand back from the shock that just hit her. The first contact shock. The start of the bond.
