Jump Park, Jump City, California. Thursday, June 17th, 9:00 p.m.
"C'mon Jaybird, we actually have a day off and you just want to walk around town?" Roy asked Jason as they sat on a bench.
"Roy, me and you both know we're only here because Donna kicked us out after I threatened to break Michael's legs and you took my side." He retorted.
"Fair point, but we're still out here and I'm just saying we could be doing something better." Roy spoke while looking up at the sky before asking the question. "And speaking of Donna do you think she's got a thing for Michael?"
"I would imagine that after spending many centuries on a hidden island that has nothing but beautiful women, you wouldn't exactly be lusting after men." Jason said nonchalantly.
"That's solid logic but it's proven false, because of one man: Steve Trevor." The redhead argued.
"That's not fair! He got lucky because he just so happened to run into Diana." Todd quickly rebuttaled.
"Okay? Then what about the famous Caped Crusader himself, don't he and Diana have a thing going on?"
"While us Bats may have a thing for powerful women, you'd be a fool if you think The Dark Knight is ever going to marry and settle down." Little did Jason know, he'd be eating those words in the following years.
"Okay but enough talking about other people's love life, I say we talk about yours Jaybird." Roy said with a sly grin.
"What do you mean, I don't have a love life?" The Boy Wonder didn't understand as per usual.
"What I mean is, who are you pushing towards? Black hair or Blonde hair?" He asked bluntly.
Jason thought for a second before his and Roy's phones started excessively buzzing.
They look at each other worried before deciding to pull their phones out to see what it was.
It was a message telling them to go find a TV screen with a news broadcast cast on it because just up to a few minutes ago everything was running normally until sudden static.
"Let's go Roy, if we run we could make it to Jump Central Plaza!"
They sprinted all the way there to find that all screens had gone static, this wasn't a normal outage because those never affect a number of this scale that only meant that someone had hacked the frequency, Jason concluded that someone or something was about to appear on these screens…and it wasn't gonna be Jack Ryder.
Just then, all the screens finally found a signal and a hooded man appeared on all of them. This man's face looked absolutely appalling, it was clear that this man had almost been mauled to death but somehow he looked familiar to Jason and while he was trying to figure out who this man was, the hooded figure started speaking.
"Hello citizens of Jump City and a special hello to the ragtag team of superhero brats that call themselves Titans." He said
Even though it was distorted Jason somehow recognized that voice and speech pattern and realized he was. "What the hell! How the fuck is he still alive?!" Jason thought to himself, however the man just kept talking.
"One year ago, I was nearly mauled to death by the abomination that all of you might know as Killer Croc, as you can see I managed to escape with my life but the damage to me had already been done!" He exclaimed as he removed his hood to give everyone who was watching a better look at him and his mutilated face.
A lot of people watching looked on in fear and disgust while some people even threw up. "When I awoke on the filthy pavement of this damn city, I felt nothing but anger when I discovered that I was legally dead but I don't blame them…no…I believe that band of caped idiots called Justice League that left me to die!" He yelled as his torn skin started flapping uncontrollably when he made facial expressions of anger.
