I'll hear you out, Dean

The apocalypse with Michael has started.

The alternative version of the First Archangel was way more dangerous than the real Michael who was trapped in Lucifer's cage deep inside Hell. That another Michael was more powerful and fearless. He's gotten the entire world in the Alternative Universe for himself. And nothing would stop him now.

The archangel was trapped inside Dean's head. The poor hunter was losing his sanity day by day. Listening to Michael trying to break down the door of the room he was locked in wasn't good for him at all. It was terrible and it hurt so much. Dean needed to stay conscious all the time, always in control - or else Michael will escape. No one was feeling better than Winchester Sr. though. All of them were worried about him, and all days and nights long they were searching for a way to kill Michael without hurting Dean.

The bunker was quiet, like the nearby graveyard at midnight. Only the wind in the ventilation was making some quiet noise. It wasn't night time. It wasn't time after an exhausting hunt when everyone was resting either. It was time at the end of the day. An ordinary day without anything that would've tried to kill them.

All hunters from the alternative universe were at work, looking for vampires, werewolves, ghouls, and other monsters around the states. So only the Winchester Family was left at home.

Dean was one of Jack's fathers that was worried about him the most. Powerless Nephilim was brought back to life, but the feeling of grief was still inside Dean's chest. Castiel was worried about him, but Dean wasn't going to let anyone come closer. Even his angel was unable to get through the wall the hunter has built around himself. But Cas will never give up on trying to help his precious human.

The lights were off in Dean's room. He hasn't gone anywhere outside his room since Jack's return. All the time he was sitting in the corner behind the bed in darkness and silence.

-"It's my fault... I should have done something! Son of a bitch! You couldn't save him. You just let your son die! It happens to all of them! Every time" - Dean spoke to himself - "Next time, I'd rather sacrifice myself. I won't let this happen ever again."

-"My fault!" - Dean backed onto a wall and covered his head with his arms as those words were repeating in his head over and over again.

Castiel walked past the hallway and stood behind the door into Dean's room, hesitating. Should he go inside and comfort the hunter, or stay away. He was about to go away as he heard Dean speaking to himself. He knocked on the door and waited for an answer. Dean's whisper then stopped, but he didn't open the door for the angel. Cass waited a minute, and then opened the door, and asked:

-"Dean? Is everything all right?" - his deep voice sounded very loud in the silent room.

-"I'm fine, Cass. Find yourself some better work than babysitting me." - the hunter roughly cut it off. He didn't even turn to face the angel of the Lord. Cass froze and stared at him.

Castiel didn't move until Dean looked up at him. The bright light behind the angel's back was making Cass look more powerful, more handsome. Like a real and strong celestial being.

-"My Lord and Saviour... Castiel" - he thought as he saw that picture of the angel standing at the door. But then he shook his head and turned away.

-"I guess you won't stop asking and go away even if I'll ask you to will you?" - Dean asked and smirked.

-"No, Dean. You should stop doing this to yourself" - Cass entered the room and closed the door behind him, keeping the lights off. He slowly walked past the room and sat next to Dean on the cold floor.

-"Doing what, Cass?!" - Dean angrily asked and hid his face in his knees as he pushed them closer to his body -"What am I doing wrong again?! Everything! I should've not listened to Sammy! I should've locked myself with Michael in that box. I can't let them suffer again."

-"They won't suffer. And you do not have to sacrifice yourself." - Cass replied.

-"I just have to do that" - Dean dropped his voice low and Castiel could barely hear him.

-"No. There always could be another way" - the angel tried his best to make the depressed hunter think rationally and positively.

-"Not this time." - Dean sarcastically chuckled - "I.." - then he went silent. He seemed to want to say something but kept his mouth shut tight.

-"Dean," - Cass softened his voice as much as he even could to calm Dean down the way it was written in psychology books he's read while the Winchesters were sleeping at night - "No matter what it is, you can tell me." - But the hunter remained silent.

-"I'll hear you out, Dean" - angel continued - "You don't have to through this alone."

-"Cass, don't-" - he was about to say something as Cass moved closer to him. Dean looked up onto Castiel's worried face and sighed, lowering his head. Angel moved even closer and lightly touched Dean's shoulder. He seemed to like Cass's touch but kept himself in control.

-"Shh, it's okay" - Castiel whispered and continued to slowly stroke his arm.

-"I'm not a child!" - Winchester roughly grabbed Cass's hand and was about to push the angel away but then took a moment to think. Then he put Cass's hand onto his face - "But... maybe I do need this right now." - he whispered.

Dean leaned towards Cass and fell onto him, leaving himself hanging on the angel. Castiel wrapped his arms around Dean and let him hide his face pushed onto the angel's chest.

-"I can't take this anymore, Cass. It's killing me..." - the hunter whined.

-"It's okay. It's all going to be okay, Dean. I promise"

Castiel's warm embrace made Dean melt, and a few big tears dropped down onto the floor.

-"It's okay" - Cass whispered, as he felt the hunter shiver, silently crying.

-"Don't leave, please... Please..." - Dean tightened his grip.

-"I won't. Never" - Cass replied and they stayed in their tight, and loving embrace.

When Winchester, who hasn't been sleeping for a few days, fell asleep in Castiel's arms, the angel smiled and put him down onto his bed, not letting him go and they fell into a deep sleep together.
