I don't own any part of Phineas and Ferb not these characters, where the story is set or anything else, just the idea.
"This was one heck of a party, girls." Isabella looked around the room. It was almost eleven and so most of guests had left. Vivian and few other moms were clearing up the mess of discarded plates and napkins. Isabella had offered to help, but her mother had insisted that she relax and enjoy the night.
She was sat around the wood burner roasting s'mores with the rest of the Fireside Girls. It was nice to be chilling with them again. The internship had taken up a lot of her life the past few weeks and her other commitments had filled up her free time.
The irony was not lost on Isabella. Two months ago, it was Phineas who had swamped her life. But with the internship it was different. She might have got a rush from being around Phineas and the adrenaline from whatever crazy invention she would help him build but at the end of the day she would be left feeling low. When she was at City Hall, she was always excited for whatever new task would be thrown her way. She was treated like an adult, respected and appreciated by everyone. When she made her way home very night, she was always buzzing, proud of what she'd achieved that day, eager to return the next.
With Phineas, she'd always felt useless. At the time she hadn't minded; she just wanted an excuse to be around him. But looking back now, she could see that while she'd done everything she could to help to him out, he was capable of doing it alone if he really wanted.
He was amazing.
But Isabella was amazing as well. She was an independent young woman and she deserved more than to be forever in Phineas's shadow.
"This reminds me of the first Fireside Girl camping trip we all went on," Adyson said. "We sat around the campfire, ate s'mores and stayed up all night."
"Seems kind of fitting," Ginger added. "That's where it all started and here's where it's all coming to an end."
"This isn't the end!" Isabella protested. "I'll be coming back for holidays!"
"I didn't mean the end of our friendship, sill," Ginger laughed. "But when you're in London you'll join the British branch of the Fireside Girls."
"I..." Isabella trailed off. "I hadn't thought of that."
"Don't worry about it, Chief," Gretchen said. "It'll be hard but we'll find a way to keep up all your hard work."
"You girls will do just fine without me."
"It's going to be weird with you not around," Holly voiced what everyone was thinking.
There was a brief silence before Katie asked, "Do you know when you're leaving?"
"My internship at City Hall ends on Friday afternoon," Isabella explained. "Mom's booked my flight out that evening. That should give me enough time to say all my goodbyes and get to the airport on time. Term starts on Monday."
"We'll come to the airport with you," Gretchen offered.
"Yeah!" Adyson agreed. "We can help people out with their luggage and stuff... Is there a patch for that?"
"There's a pact for everything," the others chorused before bursting into laughter.
"Y'know," Isabella said wistfully. "I'm really going to miss this."
"Don't worry, Isabella," Ginger replied. "When you graduate in five years time, we'll all be there for you."
"Especially when you win your Oscar and are walking the red carpet!" Adyson piped up.
