Best Friends

Chapter 1 (not rewritten)

A/N: okayyyy, so I know I said i was going to update a bunch but like stuff happened and I did not do as much writing as I thought but I'm gonna do something so there's something here before I make the dreaded return to hell tomorrow. You know those schools that favor the smart skilled kids? Yeah I have one of those places and I don't want to graduate because idk what I'm gonna do but then at the same time I do because I hate the place.
(This was written like two days ago but stupid decided not to post it even though I did like twice)

Aph's POV

I've at Falcon Claw Uni for a few weeks now. I occasionally see Aaron, but I'm mostly hanging out with Katelyn, Luka and Tera. Garroth likes to come by my dorm and say hi, I can tell he still likes me and I guess he's really cute so I wouldn't mind if he asked me on a date. I'm pretty sure Aaron doesn't see me that way anymore, he says I'm his best friend.

Today was a Saturday so I went out with my girls when we bumped into Garroth. He said he wanted to hang out with me tomorrow and catch up a bit. I haven't seen him for a few years but I'm feeling something, something I haven't felt for a while now. I give him my new number and we part ways.

"See you tomorrow at 10 Garroth."

I woke the next day at around 8:30 so I decides to start getting ready. I asked Tera for advice because I wasn't sure if this was going to be a date or not.

"Should I wear a dress or not? We're just hanging out as friends."

"Girl, calm down, wear something nice he might take you out to lunch."

*blip*

My phone beeps with a text from Aaron.

Aa: Can we hang later I want to talk to u?

Aph: Sure. When?

Aa: Around 2-ish

Aph: Sure

"So who would you want to date more, Aaron or Garroth."

I don't respond, purely because I don't know the answer to that question. If Aaron truly has moved on then what choice do I have but if he hasn't then I'd have to pick between them. Why is love so complicated. At least if I date Garroth my mom likes him so that's a win I guess. I look at the clock and it reads 9:26, I still got time before I leave so I decide to text FC.

A/N: They don't know the FC/Aaron and Shu/Aphmau thing. They find out when I say they do. Don't question me.

Shu: Hey, u there?

FC: Yep, wanna do a dungeon tonight?

Shu: Sounds like a plan. How's collage been for ya?

FC: bORING

Shu: oh well, I gotta go now. See you online later.

FC: Bye 8D

I've never met him in real life but I'm sure he's a nice person. I grab my purse and keys before saying goodbye to Tera and walking out of my dorm to meet Garroth. This should be interesting.

I meet Garroth at the field, he has a baseball bat in hand. I pray to Irene he doesn't plan to teach me baseball, it's not that I hate the game, I just football is more my forte but it's for Garroth and I really care about him so I guess I can deal with it for one day.

"Ready to learn baseball?"

"Nope,"

"It's really easy once you get the hang of it."

"Let's do this" It's for Garroth.

He starts by showing me how to pitch, which is basically just throwing the ball at the person with the bat. Simple enough. He stands at the base ready to hit the ball when I throw. I hurl the ball towards him and he hits it straight on, it goes flying through the air. I blush a little at how strong that was, it was amazing. After a few more pitches we decide to switch.

"Aph, all you gotta do it hit the ball,"

This isn't going to end well on my part, I am totally gonna fail in front of Garroth but I'm starting to enjoy this. The ball whooshes through the air past me. Miss after miss after miss. I can't seem to hit it at all, throwing is one thing but hitting is soooooo different.

However just spending time with Garroth makes me feel comfortable and I can see us going out to movies or dinner together in the near future. He's cute too, I remember my crush on him when I was a freshman, that's when I had to deal with Gene, and a whole bunch of drama.

"Can we go get food I'm starving!"

He laughs at my outburst "Well duh, we've been at this for a while."

"Come on" I grab his hand and drag him all the way to the café.

We sit down for a little bit before we order. Garroth offered to order for me and I knew he would insist so I just let him. I asked him to get me a custard tart and pumpkin spice latte. I think I could choose, if Garroth asked me out I wouldn't turn him down, I'd probably even say yes. I take that back I'd definitely say yes.

*blip*

A text appears from Aaron.

Aa: We still meeting up at two?

Aph: Yes, see u then.

He's my best friend, he'd never want to date me after all this time. I look up to see Garroth struggling with our orders so I jump up and grab the drinks. He flashes his signature goofy smile at me and I can't help but let out a small giggle. I want him to ask me to be his girlfriend.

"So enjoying collage life, no more living with parents?"

"Oh I'm loving it, I can freely hang out with guys without my mom trying to kill them with her chancla"

"Yeah but she likes me, mostly cause my mom is her best friend."

Garroth does have a point, if I were to go home and present him as my boyfriend my mom and Zianna would be overjoyed. They loved the idea of us getting together back in high school but now they'd probably love it even more because we have more freedom to be us and we are more age appropriate to give them grandbabies.

"You reckon our moms will try go get us together?"

"Haha maybe, would you want that Aphmau?"

"And if I did want it?"

"I'd start calling you my girlfriend."

He wanted something too, I suppose there's no reason to hold back from each other especially if our mothers want to have both their families united.
